The Steeler Fury Player of the Week for Week # 13 is James Harrison

Linebacker James Harrison is the steelerfury.com Player of the Week for Week 13 against the New England Patriots.

The Steelers traveled to New England to face the AFC Rivals, the Pats.  This series has been in New England’s favor, especially in Foxboro.  James “Silverback” Harrison ensured this game would be lopsided in the Steelers favor.  Silverback was a man among boys and was a one man wrecking crew against a QB that recorded consecutive 400+ yard games.  Harrison has been on a mission all season and did not disappoint against a team more hated than the Ravens.

Harrison’s efforts included:

 ·         Led the team in tackles with seven and two assists

      ·         Two sacks on Matt Cassel

      ·         Two forced fumbles resulting in two Steelers scoring opportunities

      ·         Nominated for the NFL Defensive Player of the Week

Harrison brought fear the Pat’s potent offense, a trait that is becoming well known throughout the NFL.  Harrison’s play thus far makes him the front runner for the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year.  That last Steeler to win this award was Rod Woodson in 1992.  Harrison is the only player in the NFL to record sacks, forced fumbles, interceptions and a safety this season.   The Steelers’ defense is a tough one and gaining respect.  They are hard hitting, regardless of the potential fine consequences.  They are playing smash-mouth football and Silverback is leading the effort.

Congrats to James Harrison, the www.steelerfury.com Player of the Week (Week #13).
