Steelers vs. Broncos..An Apples to Apples Comparison

The Pittsburgh Steelers head to Denver to take on the Broncos and the altitude of the Mile High City on January 8, 2012.  The Steelers enter with a 12-4 regualr season record and the AFC's #5 seed while the Broncos barely made it into the playoffs with an 8-8 record.  The Broncos' 8-8 record was good enough to win the AFC West, granting Denver home field advantage for this Wild Card game.

The Steelers didn't win the division, and they won't have a first round bye.

They won't be anywhere near healthy, and one of their healthy players won't be able to play because of a medical condition that prevents him from participating in high altitude games.

The Steelers are far from Super Bowl favorites, banged up, discombubulated and in a state closer to regression than peaking.

None of that matters right now.
