The AFC Playoff Race...Coming Down to the Wire

The Pittsburgh Steelers are still mathematically in the hunt for a Wild Card Playoff berth.  They still need to win in week 17 against the Dolphins, another team with playoff aspirations.

Steelers vs. Packers Time Change

The NFL has changed the start time for the Steelers and Packers game scheduled in Pittsburgh on Sunday, December 20, 2009.  The time change is due to the NFL's flexible scheduling system.

Kickoff is now scheduled for 4:15pm (EST) at Heinz Field.  The game was originally scheduled for a 1:00pm kickoff.

Fox Sports will provide the T.V. coverage.

The Packers are in second place in the NFC North with a 9-4 record and fighting for a playoff spot.

This Game Hurt

The 2009 Pittsburgh Steelers are playing what is called the easiest schedule in the NFL.  It is hard to put stock in strength of schedule at the beginning of a season because there is so much that can happen like draft picks, free agency, injuries and luck.  But we certainly took credit for having the league's toughest schedule last season enroute to Super Bowl ring #6.

Pittsburgh Named Best Sports City

After winning a Super Bowl and bringing Lord Stanley back home, the Sporting News has awarded the City of Pittsburgh the Best Sports City.

Camp Tomlin Part III Details

The Pittsburgh Steelers begin the 2009-10 campaign and defense of the Lombardi Trophy on July 31, 2009 at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA.  Below are some details provided by www.steelers.com.

Open practice means that session is open to the public.  All open practices are free (except the night practice at Latrobe High School).  Gates open around 1:30pm for the 2:55pm sessions.
