Does anyone find the Steelers -5.5 spread a bit odd? Given that in the game score prediction thread it is 50:50 on whether the Steelers will even win, bets should be flowing in on the Chiefs I would think.

Will be interesting to see if, and by how much it moves throughout the week.

The Chiefs D has been gutted. It's pretty bad now, especially against the pass when Berry isn't playing at full health.

I wouldn't draw any conclusions from the score predictions here at Steeler Fury -- I am certain this board is not representative of the general population

Vegas gets it. This isn't a suprise to me at all. Pittsburgh is going to role the Chiefs then play like shit against the Bucs the following week. This is who this team is now and has been for a long time. I used to like Tomlin but until he is gone, this team is going to continue to play up or down to whoever they are playing.

I'm not defending Tomlin at all, who I think is now a fat and happy, shitty coach --- but:

1. Cleveland isn't the same Cleveland as last year. They have some tremendous talent, and they won't go winless. They made some plays.

2. Torrential rain evens out the game. (eg, Outlaw dropped an easy catch and caused a pick - wet ball)

3. This week we play at home - we are a totally different team at home.

4. Last week was like extended pre-season with starters for Pgh playing together for the first time.

5. Pgh Weather forecast isn't calling for monsoon-like conditions. (like the shitty rain in Cleveland last week.)

I expect our offense to put up a ton of points this week.

1) Cleveland is Cleveland. We gave them a head start and 5 additional passes, plus a missed field goal ftw. And all they can muster is 21?

2) No it doesn't. Both teams have to deal with it. If the Pats were playing against Cleveland instead of us, Brady wouldn't have thrown those picks and the Browns would have gotten rolled.

3) Maybe. But we're also a team that hasn't gotten out of the preseason yet.

4) True, but the offense isn't taking first team reps this week because of grandpa and his bursitis.

5) That only means no excuses for lackluster play and ridiculous play calling. And unfortunately, Tomlin knows that 31 carries didn't break his running back. He's going to shoot for 40 this week.

all excellent points -- I wish I could argue back, but you're right

except for #1 -- I do expect Cleveland to surprise some people this year. But you're right - Cleve is Cleve and they will fuck it all up, even with all that talent.

Bad weather is always an equalizer for subpar teams. Especially when one has a shit QB and the other has a Hall of Famer.

Not that we still shouldn't have won, but...

Aren't sub par teams already equalized?

"On any given Sunday" applies regardless of weather.

Vegas expects this game to be a shoot out.

I don't necessarily doubt them.

That, too.

Especially given the normal officiating once a team is two scores behind.

I don't think it's going to be a shoot out
After the TOS and criticism of running Connor
I expect obstinate Tomlin to double down on run the wheels off
I als expect their asses to tighten and they will return to TOP football
