Unreal. That’s a great article. Glad Tomlin’s dumbass is getting exposed.

yeah, probably shouldn't overlook that a couple of 4th down bombs (and a few other monster plays) - which we pretty much missed on ALL year - are all that kept this from being a blowout.

They got their asses handed to them. JAX handed out a beatdown twice this year. Swap coaching staffs and it might be a different result, but otherwise JAX is the better team.

I don’t agree that Jax beat down our offense in this game. Ben’s fumble and pick hurt but he righted things and handed Jax’s D a beating. Despite ALL of Jax’s defensive players trash talking post game, ignoring they gave up 5 TD passes and 42 points,

If dickwad Haley stays away from just ONE of the 4th down plays, I feel Ben hangs another TD on then, and the Steelers win the game.

Of course, the flip-side is that if dickwad Ben doesn't throw an interception or does not hold on to the ball too long and get strip sacked, the Steelers win the game.

It was a total team failure. Hard to blame Ben given 5TDs/500 yards, but he fucked up badly.

Ok. So, the final score was Ben N Friends 42....Sackonville Elite 14

They were playing soft on the last drive, and to some extent probably more concerned most of the game with the big plays (which is why they got caught on the two fourth downs, being more aggressive trying to get off the field). So 35 points, with 14 coming off 4th down desperation throws. Great throws and catches, but still pretty low percentage. Just fantastic plays from great players.

Not a beat down of the offense by any means, but 42 points is also kind of deceptive. And we're punting on those 4th downs if we weren't trailing so badly.

Haley is an idiot no doubt.

But can any of this really be laid at his feet any longer?

Those 4th down play calls both came after time outs.

Was Tomlin busy making travel plans for the pro bowl instead of having a say on such key plays.

Haley does Tomlin’s bidding. That or Tomlin is just too fucking dumb to think it’s a bad call.

Neither reflects positively on Tomlin.

Yeah, if my QB is +28, I'll usually take that. But he did dig the hole, and got absolutely no help from his defense.

Beyond a winning effort, unquestionably. Yet, once again, Ben needed to be damn near perfect for this team to win...made two mistakes, and probably couldn't afford more than 1.

And there's another layer to it all. What if the defense holds them to 3 after the interception?

Indeed. And I think that you will agree that:
45-7=38 and 45-14=31 and that 42 > both 38 and 31.

If Ben has one less fuck up, the Steelers win. Could not overcome both fuck ups, Haley's calling, Tomlin's in-game buffoonery, and the deserver of the most blame by far: a baby soft, utterly shitty defense.

God, what if the defense did anything at all? ANYTHING! Steelers probably win.

Yeah, just disgusted by that effort.

Every time we got back in it, seemed like the defense got absolutely gouged for a quick TD. LOL, I almost didn't even have time to get excited about getting back in the game because JAX went down the field so quickly and easily.

Of course, they did make a stop or two to give the offense a shot at tying it....and then ReTodd proceeded to cal the game like it was suddenly a field position/TOP battle.

There is another way to look at this...

JAC had the #1 Pts/Dr defense in the league. And were #3 in defensive TO's/Dr

They are going to make plays too.

A 50 yd scoop and score TD is kind of flukey... but it is something a great (scoring) defense can do.

Yes, it would have been nice if our D could have kept them out of the EZ after the INT

A soft as babyshit defense. No Shazier bit us in the end.

Cameron Heyward finished the game with a single solo tackle, I think (could be wrong?). I mean, WTF.

I don’t even think it was solo. I think the stat line has it as a combined tackle. I mean how is that even possible given how much they ran the ball? In a single word, dominated.

Our Dline is vastly overrated. Got pushed around all day long. And this wasn't the first time.

Cameron Heyward was selected to the all-pro first team. Something is seriously wrong with 0 solos and a single assist.

Tuitt did not show up after injury.

Maybe the whole defense had the flu

Yeah I forget who it was but someone was kicking around comparing our d line to Jacksonville’s d line and I don’t even think it’s close.

Jackson
Campbell
Dareus (can’t believe they got him too)
Smoot
Jones
Fowler
Ngakoue

I mean, look at that. Wowzers.

That would make sense. But the way this team talks, that shit would have been out on social media a week ago.
