he obviously learned a lot in the last go round

I think so too, but it wouldn't be dumb if they did the right things, I don't mean stupid shit, like forcing players to stand for the anthem, or banning people who had DUIs. I mean CHANGE THE RULES, make the refs INVISABLE, get rid of replay, make a catch a judgment call, get rid of nonsense, like "survive the ground", I'd get rid of coaches in the booth, radios in the helmets, iPads on the sidelines, make it a sport without technology, make the QBs call the plays, CFL motion rules, get rid of nitpicky stuff, like formation penalties, no punting, etc. Make the game fast paced, have no stoppages, no commercials, except half time like soccer, there's a lot of things you can do that would make it fast, flowing, fun, interesting. Really, making it a constant motion thing that didn't stop, where it was rare to see the refs on the screen and you never had to wait for a review, would be great TV, IMO. But if they put it in there contracts, that they are forced to stand for the anthem as a condition of employment, that's fine too, but I don't care about that.

The guy has failed at every single non-wrestling venture he's tried. He wants so bad to be a success in another field.

It'll probably never happen.

Well, they’ve already stated that the players WILL stand for the anthem....

That's fine with me. But that's the least important thing. if games are just standard, boring pro football, with far lesser players and refs on the screen every 3 minutes announcing a flag and deciding the game, then what's the use? Make the game something different, get the refs out of the game as much as possible and eliminate stoppage of action, no replay at all is a good start.

100% this rule is enshrined in the XFL charter. 100%.

It’s trading about 47% above one major firms target price.

Also carries a 75 p/e.

Stock is up just under 59% over last 3 months.

Too bad you can’t act on your idea. Might play out.

I'm OK with that, but that doesn't have anything to do with whether I watch it or not. The determining factor for me is changing how the game is played, having less rules, simpler rules, and eliminating or highly reducing the use of replay to almost nothing. Basically removing referees faces from the TV screen is my main issue. Along with having little or no stoppages. That's what I'd want out of a new football league. Sing the anthem twice with your hand over your heart and a tear in your eye, as long as you fix THE GAME.

Couple this with Dan's post about boycotting the NFL - like a good little propagandist absent since nov 2017 - and you have the making of a politically motivated industry that reflects WWE.

They will do everything the NFL isn't to appease them, and conservative websites with throw all their support behind McMahon and his new football league while decrying the NFL as a failed, anti-american league filled with a bunch of minority ingrates.

Vince McMahon's relationship with dumpster is known. Aside from starting a "feud" with him to create revenue, his wife donated $7M to elect donald, and we all know how he feels about the NFL. This is a targeted business to undermine the NFL. How long it lasts is irrelevant.

I’m not going to trash on the XFL. This is the league that resurrected the career of Tommy Maddox who used that notereity to get a spot on an NFL roster with the Steelers. Who then ended the reign of the Kordella Stewart experiment which directly led to the Steelers drafting Ben and winning two SBs. So indirectly you can thank Vince McMahon for finally getting one for the thumb.

But if they eliminate half the rules, don't throw flags and have no replay, I'll watch it just because of those factors.

I agree with that totally, Tommy was a wake up call to Cowher, that a true skilled passer matters.

Hey...who knows, if the XFL rebirth is a hit, maybe the NFL owners will shitcan ole Rog and hire Vince McMahon as commish... 8-)
Shane-O as head of officiating, and Triple H can take Riveron’s gig in the NY replay booth.
Total fix. (As in repair)

(Or not  )

This will fail not because of politics, but because football is on the downside.

Majority of WWE fans are liberal.

Lower middle class Hispanic is the #1 demographic.

Translation: millions of Americans couldn’t tell you from a policy standpoint the difference between the left & the right.

I propose a simple10 question test. You no pass you no vote.

Caught a interview snippet with McMahon earlier today...seems that this version of the XFL will be pretty much the opposite of the first. Steering clear of the wrasslin’ aura. No to the cheerleaders...no political and/or social statements and protests. As mentioned, standing during the anthem will be required by contract. No criminal/felonious element. Even DUI is forbidden.
Seems that VMac is attempting to put out an actual professional football league.
We’ll see...

I've had the same thought (for different reasons no doubt), but who gets to write the test?
