Chiefs trade Alex Smith to Washington, saving $15.6 million http://www.kansascity.com/sports/nfl/ka ... 08249.html
The first blockbuster offseason move....

On the agreement in principle. Alex Smith will average $23.5 million per year in new money on the extension and $70 million in guarantees. Nobody will be able to review that contract for awhile because officially there is no contract. https://twitter.com/mortreport/status/9 ... 9015070720

I know this really doesn't belong in here but... can the Steelers hire this guy already?

Green Bay Packers HC Mike McCarthy announced Monday that secondary/safeties coach Darren Perry will pursue other opportunities.
“I want to thank Darren and his wife Errika for their dedication to the Packers over the last nine years,” McCarthy added. “We wish Darren and his family all the best moving forward.” http://nfltraderumors.co/packers-partin ... ren-perry/

Rumor is Jacksonville is the front runner to land Kirk Cousins.

If they get Cousins and a playmaker or two on offense they have to be the favorite to win it all next year.

I've heard the frontrunner for Cousins is Denver and supposedly a deal has been in place for a few days. Heard from a friend of mine who is a scout.

They also get Allen Robinson back at WR.

Major downgrade by the Skins in my opinion. I have to think Cousins had enough of Washington and didn't want to sign there no matter the price.

Cousins ends up in Cleveland @ about $30 million a year. They can fix an awful lot this year with all of their money and draft picks.

Jets, Broncos, Redskins, Saints, Bills, Cardinals, Jags, Browns, and Giants all have the salary cap space to sign him. I'd be floored if he chooses Cleveland.

Just a feeling Pabst...I think they have the ammunition to get better very quickly and some of the top free agents may start to acknowledge it.
