And they should have won against the Giants had it not be for a miracle catch by a nobody WR.

Some Patriot players, Hightower and others are supporting Butler over Belichick. Making their comments known

It's done!!! Their end is going to come to a crashing end.

Here is the source of the discontent

Quote:

@ZackCoxNESN
Former Patriots corner Brandon Browner defended Malcolm Butler and blasted Bill Belichick in a series of IG posts tonight. Said Bill "lost the game for us."

bbrowner39WTF going on here is this not the man who won SN49 for U? I hate shit like this. This is why I rock with players and not the team.

bbrowner39Lost the game for us tonight, stupid decision and makes no sense. You make the decision to give us the best chance to win. But u don’t play your best cornerback. Fuck the Politics..

Quote:
bbrowner39 - your spirit was all over that game tonight. Definitely seen it, they had safeties covering WR to prove a point. God bless u my friend, keep fighting, I saw you tear up pre game, first sign. You done a lot for that team and that community it’s ok to move on.. @mac_bz

The level of competition in the AFC was much greater then than now. Oakland, Miami, Denver all prevented the Steelers from getting to more. Not to mention Houston, Cincinnati and sometimes Cleveland all fielded postseason ready teams in those days.

Sounds like Belichick has lost control of the team, wow.

I thought Tomlin was the only guy who had players speak out to the media or openly question his decision making?

BTW, my post earlier was obviously sarcastic. Just trying to point out how ludicrous it is to argue to fire Tomlin over one poor performance. The guy still went 13-3, handled a TON of adversity, had a defense whose whole was greater than the sum of its parts, and put together a team that kept fighting until their was no time left on the clock. It's upsetting they weren't prepared to execute against the Jaguars, but hopefully they'll be better next time.

Considering what's going on in New England's organization today, I wonder if Belichick is ever going to win another Super Bowl. I'm being serious and not making a point about Tomlin. If Gronk and or Brady retire or Belichick leaves NE, I think this is it for him. Nice run.

I have to think the AFC will be a lot more competitive next year. And Brady can't keep doing this forever. He's going to be 41 next year. He can diet and take whatever he's likely on and it can only pay off for so long.

But still, that division they are in is such a relative cakewalk. I give them one more year to be a legitimate contender if Brady and Gronk are back.

This is also why Jordan > Lebron. But I digress....

Fraudlin isn’t getting us back to the SB b2b, it’s time we all face it.

They also got handed three games this year on BS calls such as James' TD reversal. (by the same ref)
Not to mention all the times they got CAUGHT cheating. No way you can really think there wasn't or isn't more. No fucking way.
Fuck NE and fuck people for all of the nonstop ballwashing. I can't wait for the NE lovefest to fucking end already.

That’s nostalgia-fueled nonsense.

New England - Inarguably the best team, coach, and QB of all time. A dynasty spanning 17 years.
Indianapolis - Peyton Manning, a top-3 all time QB.
Denver Broncos - aforementioned HOF QB and incredible defense.
Ravens - two-time SB champs, historically great defenses, division rival, always played the Steelers the hardest. Either the Ravens or Steelers generally won the division and the teams met several times in the playoffs.

Why is it dumb? I'll add this: belichick had the GOAT at QB and almost lost as many SBs as he's won. 5-3, and some very close calls in all of the wins.

Belichick's teams have been to eight Super Bowls and won five. Yes all were close games but so were all the Steelers' victories in their Super Bowls. Should we say they could have gone either way given a play or two as well?

Our man Tomlin has been to two and is 1-1. Hasn't been since Feb '11.

Pats SB runs

2001 - Tuck rule; return repunted punt for TD and blocked FG for TD
2003 - Chargers intercept pass to clinch victory, but knucklehead returns ball instead of falling to ground, Pats recover and win
2004 - Eagles 6 min drive with 7min left down two scores (a Tomlin/Ben staple btw)
2015 - Pete did what? interception at goal line
2017 - Falcons did what? Give up 25 pt 3rd quarter lead

You're full of shit as usual.

You call that AFC East the Patriots have as strong? A bunch of fuckin' weak sisters for sure.

The Colts were strong a decade ago certainly not since Peyton left.

Peyton was a shell of his former self in that Super Bowl year. The defense won that year.

While the Ravens had the Patriots number a few playoff games they weren't anything special.

You compare those teams with the ones Jack mentioned? Laughable. Like the majority of your posts.

I’m not really ball washing the Pats, I’m just saying this year they were gettable and we fucked up sk royally that we didn’t even have a chance at the rematch. Total failure.

Amen. Now, let's go out there and for ONE TIME be a player in free agency. Eagles and Pats both signed big name free agents and it worked out fine for them. There is no dishonor in signing a FA rather than building your entire team (or most of it) via the draft. Colbert needs to step up his FA game and get with the 2018 program.

2001 - Pats were up 17-3 in the fourth quarter. Ty Law pick sixed Warner for a 24-3 lead, but the idiot Willie McGinest got flagged for a defensive hold. Rams come back to tie, but the Pats made the plays to get into FG position.
2003 - That Chargers game happened in 2006.
2004 - How do you penalize the Patriots for Andy Reid's and Donovan McNabb's stupidity?
2015 - Malcolm Butler made the play. Pretty sure he was a Patriot.
2017 - Patriots made plays to come back.

Again, we can play this game with the Steelers Super Bowl victories as well.

1974 - Frank Lewis near fumble that wasn't called when the game was 9-6. Huge turning point. Lucky that ref saw that Lewis hit the ground first as there were no official reviews then.
1975 - Steelers went for it on 4th and nine leading to a near repeat of the miraculous Hail Mary pass in Minnesota.
1978 - Barnes called for interference? Really? And Jackie Smith drops that sure pass? Really?
1979 - Ferragamo's brainfart leading to the Lambert INT. If not for that, the Rams were rolling over the vaunted Steel Curtain defense.
2005 - Lots of questionable ref calls that could have gone either way. Hell Leavy even admitted it. Turns out this was the Super Bowl the Steelers won by the most points. Amazing that.
2008 - If not for that final last minute drive after the Steelers defense shit the bed against Warner to Fitz.

See how silly it is?
