And you think that means he won't be on the roster come September?

I think he just played out his contract. I doubt if they bring him back.

Why in the fuck would he be a lock to make the team?

When he first got on the field, he seemed like a decent option.

Slowly, he became less and less effective to the point where throwing him the ball was pretty much pointless.

As a returner he seemed okay, but FAR from anything special.

If he's a lock, then Matakavich should be a lock. They have a similar level of importance when on the field.

Supposedly he toasted his ankle early on. He did have surgery right after the season ended. I believe we will see him getting the same snaps this season that he got early on last season before the injury.

Somebody reported he was sitting out, then the team posted pictures of him making sideline catches.

Maybe they're just afraid he's gonna step in the hole in that one practice field.

Some play breakdowns that show him doing the little things that can help an offense.

Read into what you want, but none of it is GOOD

Right now it's neither good nor relevant. So you were half right. Now you and Lynch can go and change your sheets.

I agree KC.
I think Switz is a lock as well.
He should not be looked at as a #1, #2 ( of course ) or even as a #3.
He is a #4-#5 WR.
He developed some chemistry and trust with Ben as the season went on, 23 catches last 9 games.
36 catches on the year. But only 7.0 ypc. On the other hand 15 of his 36 catches went for first downs.
He is only 24 years old.

He will be down the depth chart.
JuJu, Washington, Moncrief, Johnson..............as the top 4.
Switz, Eli fighting it out for 5th spot.

What I would like to see is either Tevin Jones or Trey Griffey push to make the roster.
Both showed some promise in camp last year.

Tevin Jones is 6'-2" and 225. I think he has a few years in camp with us. Has 3 TD's in last two prea-seasons. Seemed like he made some nice, high concentration / contested catches.
Griffey is 6'-3"...........will be going into his 3rd camp.

Be nice if one of these taller guys can make the next step and provide some nice competition as the 5th / 6th guy.
I see more potential with Tevin, seemed like a go up and get the ball kind of skill set.
But if one of those guys makes the 53, it will have to be because they excelled on ST's

Please no DHB.
I would say I will cry if he makes another PS roster.....but I have no tears left after my Sixers stunner last night.
Nor do I have tears left from watching DHB for half a decade. 33 catches in 5 years. 9 catches in the last 3 years.
For all that we hear him being a very good ST player, not sure if I can recall a impactful play he made on ST or being an actual leading ST tackler over the years .

Matakevich is a lock because of this:

https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/player ... lo-tackles

I see multiple dudes from each team on this list. Meanwhile, only two Steelers on the entire spreadsheet. Don't know whether that is troubling or not.

The team scored a good bit last season so maybe we just punted less than a lot of other teams and had less opportunity to make tackles. we had 64 punts total 63 by Berry and 1 by Roethlisberger. which ranked 24th in the league. my positive spin.

Internet and shit.

If Johnson has the same stats as AB had his rookie year and adds to the return game then I will be fine with the pick.

My index finger cramped up while scrolling down look for ST demon DHB's name.
Was there a next page button?

I thought Switz made a nice little niche for himself by consistently picking up first downs on 3rd and short and keeping the chains moving.

I don't get why everyone here hates the dude so much. He's proven reliable on 3rd down, and Ben likes him. He ain't going anywhere.

The Steelers front office and coaching staff love Switz as well. Barring injury arrest or mental breakdown I believe his roster spot is secured. He will be the Steelers main returner and 4/5th Wr
