I didn't expect yesterday, at all. 51 points on Indy. Awesome.

5-3 looks a heck of a lot better than 4-4. 6-3 would look even better. But if we lose, 5-4 (1-3 in the division) is on shaky ground, especially with 3 division losses.

The AFCN is stacked this year. All 4 teams are plus .500. I think two or more teams will finish with 10 wins or better so it's going to come down to tiebreakers.

Cincy swept the Ravens.

We split with the Browns.

If we win this week, we'll split with the Ravens.

We still have two dates with Cincy, including the final game of the season.

Every game is important but we MUST beat Baltimore this Monday to keep our hopes alive.

This is like 2011 when we beat the Pats.

I loved the beat down we put on Tom Brady that week. It was awesome.

Unfortunately, the next week we lost to Baltimore on Sunday night and lost our chance to control the division, and so SOME of the luster of the win over the Pats was taken away (especially since the Pats did make the Super Bowl that year...in part because they got to play Denver in the AFCDG instead of us- I am convinced we would have given them a better game than Denver did, regardless of what Tebow did to us).

I think there's a chance Cincinnati collapses in the second half of the season. The bloom is off that rose a little. The Ravens could go 7-1 in the second half and they could go 4-4. No idea what to make of them. I suspect the Browns are no worse than 5-4 from here, especially if Gordon comes back strong and ready.

My ersatz division predictions for the other three teams:

Cincy 4-2-1 + 5-4 = 9-6-1
Baltimore 5-3+5-3=10-6
Cleveland 4-3 + 5-4= 9-7

So, the Steelers need to go 6-2 or 5-3 with no division losses and a minimum of AFC losses, if they want the division. 5-3 probably gets them a playoff spot; there's a good chance 4-4 does not get them in the tournament.

It starts with a must-win Sunday Night.

The problem with us is we are equally capable of rippin off a bunch of wins or also going for 4-4 like the ravens.

Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith will miss a few weeks
Posted by Darin Gantt on October 27, 2014, 4:16 PM EDT

The Ravens are going to have to make do at cornerback for a few weeks.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said that former first-rounder Jimmy Smith would miss a few weeks with a sprained foot suffered in Sunday’s loss to the Bengals, via Clifton Brown of CSNBaltimore.com.

The sprain is not of the dreaded Lisfranc variety, but his absence will force the Ravens to adjust. Chykie Brown was inactive yesterday, leaving Dominique Franks to fill a starting role.

Franks was signed when Asa Jackson was placed on IR/designated for return earlier this month, and he’ll be out until early December.

Possibly the most overused phrase in all of sports.

Preseason I said the last game will be for all the marbles. 10-6
