You could simply say the kid played ok for a debut and leave it at that. Dont know why he would have to be such a jackass after a win. Be gracious man. Be classy.

Oh give him a break. He's just taking after his daddy Belichick.

Indeed and trying to make massive judgments from it is frankly foolish.

Only judgement I'm making is that while I get you don't want to suffer a major injury in preseason, stop blowing it completely off.

Every game, from 1 to 16, is important from playoff positioning perspective, and putting early games at risk because you're treating them as extended preseason doesn't help you from a playoff positioning perspective.

Defense looked good without Dupree and Tuitt...and it looks like they're going to have to continue to do so.

FYI....I'd lay money that second TD to James was a Finchner 2-pt play.

Ben Roethlisberger was 11-of-11 targeting Antonio Brown, the 1st time since 2014 a QB targeted a receiver 11+ times without an incompletion. https://twitter.com/ESPNStatsInfo/statu ... 4247315456

Impressive! :)

Basically AB is Ben's spirit guide.

There are two defenders nowhere near AB, they have to have their backs facing the ball to even get close to AB, and Ben put it up where AB could get it. There's not a damn thing wrong with that throw to AB, call me an apologist or not. The guy has been making those throws for how many years now? And you doubt him? Why?

agreed B2B, maybe you could argue the decision to throw there, (I wouldn't) but the throw itself was a great one right to a spot where only his guy could make a play on it. Great throw, awesome catch imo

I doubt Ben throws it if AB is not the WR in that spot. Damn right it could have been picked. All defenders have to do is turn around because the ball was a floater. AB is a generational talent no less than the guy who threw it to him. Ben has brass balls that ring from one end of the stadium to the other.

It's actually something they ran a lot at camp, per Steelers twitter.

So all props to Toddeth Titleist Haley.

Steelers very unimpressive today but hopefully this will be a wake up call. Really the offense just needs more time to play together and gel. If they were big headed coming into this game thinking they would cruise to a 13-3 record, this may have brought them back down to Earth.

I watched quite a few games today and all around the NFL was very rough to watch today ... sloppy and very conservative.

Sooooooo ... will go with a win is a win

Quick thoughts

I agree 1000% with Kodak and b2b that this team will go as far as Ben and Ab take them ... would like to add bell and Bryant to this but the need to get in form and make it uninjured through the season.

The coaches are of no help - just interfering cheerleaders as far as I am concerned

Bell holding out didn't help things so hopefully they get that sorted quickly

I will wait to see how we play in two areas once we get a decent opponent
Pass D
Offensive play calling

I don't think anything at the top is going to change now or anytime in the near future and I don't think there is any real difference maker on D

Just pull for the main guys to perform above the bullshit in big games

Tomlin: "I thought our offensive drives got stopped because of penalties. I thought our defensive drives got extended because of penalties." No Shit?!

Tomlin: “We were highly penalized today. That was the story of the game in terms of execution." So what the hell are you doing about it?

Tomlin: "A great win for us, an AFC North road game in week one versus a worthy and hostile opponent." You don't say...

Moneyball. Release high price vets even with $58M in cap room. The object is not to win games but to win the draft.

AB is simply amazing how he does that with guys hanging off of him and the ball being tipped. That was incredible.

Here comes another holding. Smith Schuster with ANOTHER holding penalty. Do they even try to teach these guys how NOT to hold? That is 11 penalties now

Ball wasn't tipped, if you're talking about he one handed grab he made when DB was holding his other arm. Looked like Ben threw it without the laces and on target, although with a wobble.

Refs seem to be terrible today. Watching the Seattle/GB game and there are terrible calls or non-calls all favoring GB.

Lol. That article is such a piece of shit hatchet job.

Somebody in that org has figured out they're a placeholder. I wonder if it's Hue himself.

That's why I thought an Ayers would've made the team.

I am not sure about a classy move here. It seems to me like a telegraphed move to boost Hayden's confident's. I didn't see anything special from him today. If anything TJ Watt should have got it.

Maybe....Or it's just the guy never won an opener and beating CLE had a special significance for him.

They're going to grow from it. Lot of work to do, obviously. A great win, though, against a hostile division rival, if you will.
