Here it is.

the SteelerFury Podcast Week 5

The winning has restarted, the whining goes to new heights!

P.S.: Would also like to point out that the show costs $$$ and time to put up-- if you like it, please go to steelerfurypodcast.com and look for the Paypal donate button on the lower left side. Even a buck or two helps a lot, thanks! Also, apologizes to anyone who previously tried to donate to the show-- the Paypal button linked to the wrong address, so that's why it was returned.

1974-1975-1978-1979-2005-2008-2017?

Here we go!

NEW INSTRUCTIONS: to view, listen, and "call in" via computer, go to: http://uberconference.com/steelerfurypodcast
to call in by phone: 724-209-8118

Something special to ask this year: If you like the podcast, please take a few minutes to post a review/rating at either iTunes or soundcloud. We need at least 10 reviews at each to get bumped up in the listings, which would help us keep going. Thanks!

Be there! Aloha!

The 3-1 Pittsburgh Steelers will host the 2-2 Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday at Heinz Field and judging by the team’s first injury report of the week that was released at the conclusion of Wednesday’s practice, they remain a fairly healthy squad, all things considered.

Not practicing on Wednesday for the Steelers were safety Sean Davis (ankle), guard Ramon Foster (thumb), quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related) and defensive end Stephon Tuitt (biceps). Those four players, however, are expected to be ready to play Sunday against the Jaguars. Roethlisberger sat out last Wednesday so that trend is likely to continue.

Limited on Wednesday for the Steelers were outside linebacker Bud Dupree (shoulder), tight end Jesse James (shoulder) and inside linebacker Ryan Shazier (shoulder). They are also expected to be healthy enough to play against the Jaguars.

Practicing fully on Wednesday were tackle Marcus Gilbert (hamstring), safety Mike Mitchell (hamstring) and outside linebacker James Harrison (illness). All three players missed the Steelers Week 4 game and Gilbert has been sidelined since Week 2. Thursday will be a key practice day for Gilbert and Mitchell.

Not a huge fan of Ben sitting out of practice again. I don't know how much can be accomplished with "mental reps" instead of actual practice, I don't know enough about being a QB to speak with authority on that. But it would seem to me that based on his performance last week he'd want to get out there and iron some stuff out.

I thought Ben played great last week. Im not sure an extra practice or 1 less practice will make much difference either way.

I totally agree on AB

Listening to the podcast it paints a pretty analytical Tomlin in regards to gameplanning for the current opponent

Punch him in the balls? Seriously?

And what't to prevent him from returning the favor in the pile?

Well, your punch as an OL would be legal... but not much stops DL from checking your family tree in the pile!

No one wants Ben gone...that's overreaction.

There is SO much talk in Steelers fan world at large about how Ben has lost it, Ben is done, Ben is the problem with the offense. if you doubt me, look at twitter, steelersdepot, the post-gazette chats, and so on.

Football Outsiders right now, examining each play's success and adjusting for the defenses played, has Ben at 7th QB in the league, just ahead of some guy named Aaron Rodgers... and everyone would acknowledge Ben hasn't played as well as he can this first month.

Looking for Ben to have a few big games in a row. That will keep the critics quiet. Ben can do it too.

Yes there are discussions as to whether he is declining.

That doesn't mean people are wishing him out the door.

B2B stated about the legal part. If the thought of punching someone in the pearls bothers you make it the gut. My point is simple. Olinemen must force the defensive linemen hands down and out of the passing lane.

Onto the pile...Trust me I will take a punch to the nuts over an eye gouge or someone checking my oil(Thump up my ass)

Bother me? Nah. I just though it was funny. I was half expecting you to offer some piece of wisdom about playing O line - like some body block out or a special jiu jitsu hand technique - which in a manner of speaking, is in fact a punch in the nuts. Conrad Dobler would approve.

But that prostrate exam vid was hilarious.

Great podcast guys.

Ben hasn’t been “top 3” Ben in a while, but by no means should anyone want him gone considering there are what, maybe 8-12 guys in the world that can win a football game at the professional level?

Now that the extra month of pre-season with contact has concluded & Bryant & Bell (receiving) are back to game speed/timing & our young version of Hines Ward (JuJu) has integrated well, Ben's numbers will easily increase.

I'm leaning towards an offensive explosion for the jags game at home - Bell racking up over 150 total yards/ MB getting a bomb for a TD/ AB getting his/ JuJu with scraps - and then a 1-3 point differential for a loss against the chiefs. I dunno. It's a crap shoot trying to figure out this team sometimes.

Just when someone is thinking about the grass being greenier from Ben, throw hot water in your face and punch yourself in the nuts, because it’s not.
