Looks like the Chiefs will be without starting center Mitch Morse and guard Laurent Durnavey-Tardif tomorrow.

If they turn in last week’s game on D with a solid tweak for Kelce; turn in last week’s game on offense with 70% of mistakes removed, and I am not talking interceptions, I am talking the mistakes prior to the interceptions that put Ben into 3rd and long, we win handily.

We will need the A game. The Jax game was so close to being an A game, just 1-2 plays at the beginning and the flood gates would have opened.

One other thing that was an insidious cancer last week, punt defense. They need to tweak the rush up the middle and put some heat on Colquitt. We got killed on the field flips last week and pinned deep at least twice too many times. Make it uncomfortable for Colquitt, get aggressive and screw the return game if you have too. Maybe we will get some lateral wind that will screw with their drops to the foot.

Where you see that smokin?

I see Tardif ruled out, but Morse?
If the starting C and starting RG are out, then Hargrave and Tuit and Dupree need to create hvoc.
Attack that side and up the middle. Stunts. Overloaded. Blitz LB up the middle.
Left side blitz early to see how quickly RG picks switches.

With starting WR Chris Conley gone for year after ACL injury last week...and Albert Wilson a bit banged up but taken off injury report......#4 WR De'Anthony Thomas moving up on some depth charts. 3 catches on the year. Tyrek Hill popped up on injury report with hamstring. But could be smoke.

Have to take Kelce and Hill away from Smith.

Albert Wilson - WR - Chiefs
Albert Wilson (knee) was removed from the Week 6 injury report.
Wilson only got in two limited practices, but will play Sunday against the Steelers. With Chris Conley out for the year, Wilson will take over opposite Tyreek Hill.

Laurent Duvernay-Tardif - G - Chiefs
Chiefs RG Laurent Duvernay-Tardif is out for Week 6 against the Steelers.
He'll miss his second straight game. The Chiefs will also be without Mitch Morse, leaving Jordan Devey and Zach Zulton to start.

Tyreek Hill - WR - Chiefs
Chiefs coach Andy Reid confirmed Tyreek Hill (hamstring) will play against the Steelers in Week 6.
He showed up on the injury report as a limited participant on Thursday but he'll be out there Sunday against Pittsburgh. Hill has been efficient with his workload this year, turning 34 targets into 25 catches for 356 yards and two touchdowns. He also scored on a punt return last week against Houston. Hill is RotoPat's No. 15 receiver for Week 6.

Travis Kelce - TE - Chiefs
Coach Andy Reid said Friday he expects Travis Kelce (concussion) to play in Week 6 against the Steelers.
He was left off the Chiefs' final injury report. It became clear Kelce was likely to play on Thursday when he turned in a full practice. It appears he should be teed up with confidence against a slumping Pittsburgh defense.

Back up C Jordan Devey has played in 4 games with one start the last 2 years with KC.
4 starts for NE in 2014 and 9 for SF inneed2015

And RG Zach Fulton has 37 starts in 53 games with KZ last 4 years.

I rewatched the Chiefs game from last week and I've seen them now 4 of 5 games this season. Here's how I see keys to the game:

1. Travis Kelce is Alex Smith's AB. Smith looks for Kelce on pretty much every meaningful 3rd down and/or when he gets pressured and has to reset the pocket or throw in a hurry. Ryan Shazier has basically given up nothing in coverage, while adding an array of stupendous INTs. He's made a dramatic step forward this season-- but this is arguably the toughest matchup he will face. Kelce is a whiner and a toolbag but he's an awesome receiving talent. Shazier has to at least limit Kelce's chances.

2. Pressure is still Alex Smith's kryptonite. Houston got a good deal of interior pressure and forced Smith into some rushed throws-- not his strength.

3. Heyward, Tuitt, and especially Hargrave are the keys to the game. I predict the Steelers will prioritize contain on the outside rush and try to push the pocket into Smith's lap. I also predict they're going to have some success doing that. If the OLBs/DEs don't let Smith escape out of the pocket, the Steelers have a chance to keep KC down, much like last year's two games. If they let him escape and Kelce is healthy, Steelers' D is in for a long day.

4. Tyreek Hill is improved as a WR, but he's still much more dangerous on designed run plays and especially returns. He's simply one of those dudes that you in no circumstances whatsoever allow to return the football,

5. This would be a great week to feature all three TEs plus Juju. You want some instant boost for the offense and red zone production? Derrick Johnson is many things-- coverage LB vs good TEs is not one of them. Steelers have to get Grimble running the seam routes he had success with last year. They have to get McDonald some easier catch and run targets-- how about a return route, Todd? Maybe a slant? McDonald can really run after the catch, but he isn't the tallest most high-pointingest target for the seam route he's been targeted with like 3 times. The Steelers really lack a big body who can use the frame to get body position, then go up and fight for the football. Juju looks to have some of that skill and should be used that way, especially in the red zone.

6. The return of Marcus Gilbert. The Steelers record over the past few seasons is awful without GIlbert and damn good with him. Justin Houston will play, also, but GIlbert is the Steelers' secret weapon. If Gilbert can hold Houston to a stalemate, the Steelers' offense has a chance for a good day.

7. Ramon Foster is an injury question mark. I like B.J. Finney as a backup guard, but let us hope Foster can be in there because the Chris Jones's nad Bennie Logans of the world are a better matchup for fatass Foster than the more mobile Finney.

8. The Chiefs are way more impressive on offense and their D is good but not great. They also have hidden points/yards from their STs. Slow down the Chiefs O, especially winning first downs and third downs and Pittsburgh has a chance to come home happy on Sunday.

My big concern is their rushing offense against our rush D. I think they are going to run a lot and play action deep to test our secondary (as we really haven’t been tested yet). We must turn around this rush D.

Regarding Foster....I actually like Finney better when it comes to running the football.

Should be a good game!

This feels like a make or break the Season game, more than usual. Steelers will be 4-2 and back on track for the playoffs. Or 3-3, and heading in a downward spiral right down the toilet.

Yep

Yep

We can win this game today.

Steelers injury status.
.
Don't think Foster practiced all week. Back injury Jagernaut game.
Don't recall him leaving that game.
Foster has always been huge.
The Big Ragu is approaching 32..... Tho listed at 328
He looks like he's playing close to 340_350.
Age and weight may be catching up to one of this teams leaders.

Hearing Gilbert will be back.
He practice on Friday?

Gilbert practiced all week and will start.

Finney will start for Foster at LG. Finney has played very well in Foster's place in the past.

Watching NFL network....reviewing Cowboys-Packers. The point about not needing to throw when you drop back to pass was something Ben could do and help the running game and the receivers.

He needs to call his number 2-3 times early. Run a bootleg, run a QB draw, and run 2-3 qb sneaks.

This is such a Todd Haleyism - taking away camouflage. Splitting the RB out wide, taking the QB sneak out of the playbook, no bootlegs or QB draws. Camouflage any time you have an opportunity. It freezes the LBs a split second and prevents the all in bets on the upcoming play.
