Anyone enjoying this young D? Holy fuck.

I think it is evolving into potentially something really special. I was worried about them as CLE put up 18 pts against us and a rookie QB had a little bit of success against us at first. And giving up 30 pts to JAX ( I know the pick 6s helped inflate the score) and how Fournette ran all over us was concerning, but in the last 2 weeks, I think they have begun to come of age and they are improving.

Ok, enough bitching about the field goals. Clearly we are going to win. Be happy.

Don't get me wrong. I am VERY HAPPY with this win and very hopeful moving forward.

Todd Haley TD's alone were enough to win today. I'm pretty happy, that was a stout defense we hung 29 on. Easily could've been more.

By far our best game all year.

Cut out the dumb penalties and turnovers that have plagued us all year.
Flew around the field on D, turned it up to another level when we needed it.
Ben looked like his old self, throwing tight spirals, moving great in the pocket, great decision making.
Bell was his usual otherworldly self.
Boswell was such a find. It goes unsaid really but he's so damn good.

Love it.

I love defense, and this game was so fun when we were beating the crap out of Dalton.

Hahaha.....Tomlin & company don't do Victory Formation right. Bengals have to finish it for them.

GREAT win.....but frustrating as hell. That's okay though.

I thought it was classy. Game was over, don't risk any further injury and don't risk pushing for an unneeded score. Appreciated Cincy's classy response to kneel as well rather than chuck it around for another 30 seconds.

He has to get "it" back.

And soon.

Are you not happy they are winning?

don't want to speak for havoc, but as for me, I am proud that we are winning. Don't get me wrong. I'm glad, but this team has aspirations of winning it all--I'm sure you know all of this--and at the risk of being overcritical, I just see problem areas that will cause PIT problems against teams like New England or maybe Denver--a team with a great defense and the like. I love the win and I know a win is precious in the NFL. Just look back 2 weeks ago against JAX, but I get worried about how many points we leave out there and against Tom Brady, we going to need all the points we can get. That's my beef. I know it may be nitpicking at the end of a game we will win, but I want so much for this team to be dominant and to win #7 that's all.

It's not nitpicking, Memphis. It's a legit concern. Had we lost this game, we would ALL be bemoaning all the points we left out there....the failure to convert yard to go on FOUR consecutive possessions, etc., etc.

And...maybe this is nitpicking, too....but still can't believe the fake punt. Maybe it was the coach's call, maybe Golden did it on his own. But if he doesn't throw a good pass, if DHB fucks it up, Steelers would have been in an unnecessary precarious spot....Cinci down 12, almost 7 minutes left, and at the Steeler 40. GOOD goddamn thing it worked!!

Understood it...but not seen it in that spot. The funny thing is there's been a few times where Victory Formation would end the game, and Tomlin's run plays from scrimmage, had Ben pass to AB, etc.

That's true. We're pretty inconsistent in our decision making in moments like that, which can be frustrating.

Agreed. 20-25 carries is a lot. 35? On top of the 30+ last week? :?

I hope he stays healthy....but if he wears down you have to point at the absurd stupidity of coaches in games like this.

I'm considering how ineffective he was in the first 3-4 games too. Still, you are correct. Bell has to stay healthy. No reason they can't substitute Conner/Watson for 10-15 carries.

Honestly kind of shocked - he's averaging 19 carries a game for the season (despite 67 the last two weeks).

But even if he sits the final game of the season (hopefully), he's going to flirt with that Mendoza line of 370.

I'll take it as my rugby team had an absolutely shit week. Bengals are always tricky because they know Steelers so well. Especially as on at least 5 times by my count Bengal DBs got away with absolute muggings. That no call on AB on bomb v Jackson was bad, really bad.

Love to see Conner as a closer. Love to see more of Watson in the same short yardage situations. 3 headed Monster if you will. Saves wear and tear on Bell. Win, win, win and win scenario IMO.

Rosie Nix says Burfct kicked him in face mask. FFS that POS needs to be removed from the NFL before he does someone serious damage.
