I'll take 6-2 at the bye the way we are positioned. I still those two eggs will haunt us.

On the other hand, as it turns out we will play 2, maybe 3, teams who finish with a winning record this year.

We really should end-up 13-3 with home field. But 12-4 (should be a cakewalk with our schedule) will probably get it done, even if we lose to NE.

Sorry KC I'm not seeing that. He might be close to Ike Taylor level. Although Ike played the run better. JMO

Against the run and tacking he may prove to be a major liability.

In this era of football, that's what the front 7 is for. A shutdown CB is a rare bird, especially when you rarely draft higher than 20.

Burns is who I thought he was.

The guy I was wrong about is Joe Haden. He got his mojo back.

absolute larceny to get him for free from the stains

I actually thought Haden would be worse than Cockrell because Haden was bad 2 years...Now I think without Joe Haden, we might be 4-4.

When we use the whole field, we look like an NFL offense and what everyone expected the offense to be.....Ben gets multiple choices of easier throws and everyone looks better (even AB, as great as he is).

There is a lot to be excited about with this young D. Ben missed some guys tonight but also had some bad drops. Let's not forget Eli should have had a TD. Brown's OPI was a ticky tacky call which should have been a TD. We left a lot of plays out there.

What happens when we don't start leaving plays out there? This offense really has so much potential but they have to execute better and Haley's turtles have to stop.

I was pleasantly surprised we were throwing at the end and being aggressive. That won us the game.

The Eli drop isn't on Ben....but missing DHB sure was.

Eli is not making the most of his opportunities. Juju is filling the Bryant/Rodgers vacuum well.

But wasn't the DHB miss the same drive that ended with a TD to AB, overturned for bullshit OPI?

Not sure what the record would be but he moved the defense from good to 2017 elite

I wonder if they'll use the bye to get Hunter up to speed. JuJu replaces Eli, Hunter replaces Bryant. I'd think about shopping Eli and signing Ayers back.

win is a win..very fortunate..a bit lucky...definitely ugly...but it counts..
I'm glad as heck lions went for the td with a bit over 2 min left..if me I kick the fg.. and let steelers turtle and get ball back needing a winning fg with over a min. way our defense was giving up huge yards and there very good long distant kicker I like their chances.. thank u lions!

That wasn't a bullshit call though. That was the definition of OPI. I mean, anytime OPI is called it's frustrating, but that was legit.

Yep, clear push off. Only mitigating factor IMO is that the refs were otherwise letting the DBs and WRs get away with murder. But as we all remember from Super Bowl 40, OPI is real and gets called justifiably at times. Tonight was one of them.

Some think so, Bam. Fourth down followed the 2-minute warning, so you kick the FG, Steelers pick up 1st down on a 3rd down play, with all three Steeler plays not involving a clock stoppage, and the game would be over.

As it was, had Lions kicked the FG, they still lose 20-18, not getting the ball back.

Either way is defensible, though.

It was very marginal, especially when you consider they let the guys play most of the night.

Once again, an offense that needs your QB to be perfect almost every time it matters is a SHITTY offense. Ben missed plays, and he also had some drops (he had guys make some tough catches, as well). Overall he played a pretty good game. Not great, but a lot better than average - but if you go back and read this game thread, Ben's like one pass away from being washed-up.

I saw wide open receivers tonight.

Steeler fan years are a lot like dog years. They age ya fast.

Love this team but, man....it always seems to be harder than it should be.

Exactly right, Greek. We don't enjoy these games. We suffer through them, hope we're happy in the end.

So did I. Along with a QB who, while not perfect EVERY play, had a pretty damn good game.

You guys were creaming yourself over Stafford....he had just as many guys open, and missed just as many throws. And he scored less points. Stafford, if you read the game thread, was great. They pretty much played equally. But Ben sucked. That is Steeler fan reverse-schadenfreude.

yes..they kick then..down 2...steelers get ball at 25..we all know they turtle and hem haw...pressure on they wither and don't get first..lions ball at their 40 with no timeouts..min to play they only need a completion or 2 and a spike..to get in position for a 50-55 yarder..lions looked worse to me in red zone then steelers..I was worried about the fg scenario more then the 4th and game one..

Honestly.....a game of broken and blown coverages.

If you take that away, I have no idea what to make of things.

I just don't understand that decision. I don't care how good AB is, throws into triple coverage are lousy odds.

I'd say he didn't see the safety or didn't think safety would get there. Probably the worst throw of Ben's season to date.
