You bring up Gronk... this is probably crazy but is Watt athletic enough to cover him? Seeing Watt drop and get up to attack passes...could he have the size and athleticism to match Gronk?

I believe he does.

In an ideal world

Bud Dupree improves rushing the passer
James Harrison has something left in the tank
Watty continues to improve/grow
Ryan Shazier continues to improve in coverage.

I understand that leaves Vince Williams on the bench at times.

The Steelers best 11 against some sets may include 3 outside linebackers

Love it or hate it the NFL is all about specialization

Steelers' prevent D last year was 3 OLBs. They just swapped in Watt for Jarvis at the MLB spot.

Can't help but see that as an obvious improvement, and Jarvis wasn't awful in coverage, either.

I'll say it a million times: if Jarvis had been a 4-3 backer, he'd have had a halfway decent chance at success.

Strongside in a 43, I could probably see it.

Still hasn't gotten a free agent look.

He can't cover a TE in man, though. I think he's an above average Will for a team that plays C2.

Interesting thought. I'm not sure about his footspeed for the weakside, but you're right he was better covering closer to the line. Also a lack of footspeed.

Truth be told, he has limitations at either lol. However I think he made all of his significant plays when lined up off ball.

Remaining schedule.
May have gotten a little easier.
Reports that Watson may have torn ACL in practice
