Whut?!?!? Just a few weeks ago he said he'd take as many carries as they can give him.

One wonders if he's not manufacturing an excuse for his YPC and YAC being down, ahead of possible free agency.

Giving him a ton of carries in practice also brings back memories of a few years ago when he got hurt, and PIT had no one prepared to step-in for the playoffs. If Conner and Watson carries in the game, can't they at least get some first-team work in practice?

Yet another reason why we don't give this guy long-term money.

And yes, more drama for this bunch.

Someone is a moron in this case, alright. Or at least precipitous in his judgments.

Bell just never shuts his mouth. Like ever.

Maybe his next TD celebration will be a choreographed retirement party.

First he's not getting the ball enough, now he's being ran into the ground? Which is it? Shut the hell up and play ball.

I don't read Depot because it's awful. My mistake.

How is this drama? He was talking about practice. We talking about practice, practice? Seriously we are talkin about practice- not a game- practice. Anyone that has competed in anything from air hockey to badminton has had only bad things to say about practice- because it sucks. Especially when you come back from any time off. That said, Steelers should lay off and give JC more reps because frankly, we might need them

Whether these comments be sarcasm or serious...I say for 12 million a year...run Bell till he drops.

RBs aren't WRs or QBs....they have a short shelf life...don't save those young legs for a rainy day. They get old fast whether are benchwarmers or ridden until they collapse.

P.S. Yeah...Payton and Riggins were exceptions...Payton more than Riggins because he averaged 87 more carries per year.

Tired of all the super slow developing run calls that often set up a 2nd and 12

Refreshing to see Connor just run FUCKING hard downhill

26 carries for 80 yards today. 5 catches for 32 yards. 112 all purpose yards. 0 TDs

Because he is on my FF team. Only thing I can come up with.

For me it's the Zero TD's that's concerning. I don't care about stats except two. Touchdowns. Wins.

I agree....defenses have figured him out..just stand in his way . don't over pursue..sure he gets some yards..but he losing yards on many runs now. he lacks speed for long runs. he needs to run like connor more and do the hesitate runs less.

I really don't give a shit about TD's. It's such noise.

Production and efficiency is what matters. Bell has been pretty good, but not great. There's really no argument that he's better, or worse, than at least 6-7 backs in the league. His dumbass should have slobbered all over signing that 5/60 contract/

In addition to lacking the speed to get to the edge consistently. Which is also a like,y reason his numbers are down.

If a defense knows a large majority of his runs are between the tackles they can be much more aggressive in defending it.

I believe his injury was worse than led to believe last season and even this season. He's never had long speed but his quickness and ability to accelerate was what was setting him apart prior to the injury. He would hesitate and then BAM he was way up in the second level as quick as a hiccup. So far this season, I'm not seeing that from him outside of the glimpses that I saw in the KC game. He use to be able to run away from LB and safeties and now not so much.

Deangelo was faster to the edges and now so is Connor.

The stetch play with Bell on last play or so before game winning FG was slow developing dumb call that many times results in holding calls.

You run straight agead two or three times in that spot. Common sense.

Hope Connor did not pull a muscle after sitting around for three and a half quartes before seeing a carry

Today was odd - tackled with one arm like I've never seen. But the previous few games he was bitching people and running them over.

No question Bell is "elite" The question is just how many guys are in that discussion. Pretty clear Bell is not special, but one of 7-8 guys who can claim to be "elite".

He's an $8M/yr guy. I'm not sure if PIT is lucky he didn't sign that deal - I think pride will see Bell taking a "fair" offer elsewhere.

You are talking about a team that took a TO to discuss a play then had to take a delay of game because they still didn’t know what to do.

That is all coaching and being prepared and practiced for these moments on Wednesday thru Friday.
Not in the heat of the moment.

Thought these idiots were close to burning another time out.

Thought that myself. Two time outs for one play.

Fortunately they pulled out the win. A sloppy W better than a well executed L.

Still though, not a lot of confidence these guys have another gear. Something they’ll need to win a championship.

And given how the first 9 games have gone, there is a good chance Ben will be the second best QB on the field any given week. Especially the deeper we go.

Without TD's your margin for victory narrows. Not sure I understand why you don't care about TD's Kodiak.
