I’m not sure our players are smart enough to know either. We have some dumb fuckers on this team.

Including our star quarterback, who wanted to spike away one more chance to win in regulation.

Although you know something? Given how fucked up everything was at that point, Ben may have had the right idea.

Saw the replayin nfln, the spike was the right call. He should have followed through as the rest of team was prepared for it based on huddle up, he followed Haley’s shouting in headset. Utter failure all around

Oh....and Myriad may have displaced Obviously as Tomlin's word of choice.

There were a myriad of possibilities; there's a myriad of options; we had a myriad of plays we were considering.

Imagine if during the week they practiced several different end game scenarios and had a quick scorecard of plays for those situations that they could quickly refer to and make decisions?

Imagine if they got their likely personnel groupings for those plays together and had them waiting on the sideline. Imagine if these groupings were told to listen for the signal as to which one was going out there so they could run out onto the field the instant the call came down...if they had to.

Imagine PLANNING AHEAD OF TIME.

I know...sometimes I ask too much of people that get paid millions of dollars...

What is this scorecard and personnel groupings you speak of......

Well in the presser, Tomlin said they have “frameworks” but that usually the end game situations re just “so specific” that you really can’t plan much detail in advance.

Bullshit.

All you need to manage an endgame is yards to go, time left, and timeout situation. You could build a suite of plays around that. Bill Walsh did this and did it very successfully.

Jeems.

I love Mike Tomlin.
Represents the Steelers with pride and honor.
Speaks well. Captive. Conveys his message.
Players play hard for him. Love playing for him.
Will run thru a wall for him.
Has the next man up motto and ready to go.
They never give up. Never say die.
Claw their way back into games.
Can win any type or style of game.
Indoors, outdoors, rain, snow, cold, 90 degrees and sunny.
Never excuses.
Can beat any team in football.
Enthusiastic. Fire burns in his belly.
Cheers his guys. Pats them on back. Gets in their face when needs to.
Cool. Calm and collected. Level headed.

He just has his deficiencies.... and we have had many threads.......disecting them.
And when those deficiencies rise up .... its too much for this team to overcome... as his week points are huge parts of winning and losing games.

I will never stop rooting for Mike Tomlin to bring home #7.

All true, Stosh...which is why some on this esteemed website are foolish for labeling some of us as "shitting on" wins and minimizing little, benign issues like game/clock management.

I'm just hoping that the silver lining is that maybe, just maybe, Tomlin will learn from this one. I do think it's tough to evaluate yourself critically, objectively in the face of a win. With a loss, it's unavoidable.

Very True Swiss.
And yeah. Let's hope a huge learning lesson of a game.

And a rematch keeps the offensive pedal down to take an 8 point lead to 11 or 15.
To stick a bigger body on Gronk to bang at the line. A guy with more length to make it harder to throw over. A safety over the top in the same zip code of Gronk.
Not to turtle and be so predictable on first downs with run heavy packages.
To have your best personnel on the field most od the time...especially in huge moments.

Unfortunately. I'm afraid the Jessie James play. And the Ben pic. Have overshadowed all the things they did wrong long before the long Juju catch-and-run and in between that play and the last 3
