Resident Vol alhill could speak to this better than I, but Tennessee's defense was decimated by injuries this year especially on the d-line where they had some lightweight junior butters seeing action. With so many kids out, offenses were keyed in on Derek Barnett and he still wreaked havoc. Every game I watched this kid made big plays including one in person over in nearby Athens. With Steelers surging toward the playoffs my guy Barnett is out of reach but he's one I trade up for.

Lawson is the only edge rusher I've seen on tape who I think is a sure thing. I haven't seen too many but I like the cut of his jib.

I too like Lawson but like you with McKinley vs Stanford, the one game I really keyed in on Lawson was vs UGA figuring he'd dominate a really bad bulldog OL but it was teammate Montravius Adams that really stood out in that one. Watched Lawson vs. Bama too where he didn't have an impact but 'Bama's line much better than UGA's garbage unit. The bowl game vs pass happy Oklahoma should provide Lawson with a good opportunity to showcase his pass rushing prowess.

I'll check it out, Drama. Recently I've taken to watch guys tape in their toughest matchups... I like to see the possibilities in easier games but best competition, best read.

I'm not sure what to make of any of them yet.

Well I hope they don't reach for OLB in the first.
Any info on the 2 guys from Illinois?
Maybe a safety Adams, or ILB Cunningham in the first and OLB Iin the second?

"What kind of name is Taco?" I'm guessing it's not Comanche Indian.
If one you guys can vouch for this kid I'll overlook the fact he plays for Michigan. Obviously he dominated some fat lump of shit who was attempting to play RT for my Buckeyes with 9 tackles and like 3 sacks. Kid really has some speed and hustle though. At 6'6 270 he looks versatile enough to rush as 4-3 end or stand up as 3-4 OLB. Damn I really am getting old. Couple beers at dinner and I'm drunk typing about some kid name Taco.

I think both Illinois guys, Dawuane Smoot and Carroll Phillips, are middle round talents. Smoot is more of a disruptive type of linemen and should make more plays than he does. Phillips is the guy who has some twitch to him. Both can bend and are athletic.

I'm higher in their teammate Chunky Clements at DT, I think he's a quick twitch NT that could intrigue in the middle of the draft and has a should be a top 100 guy.
