Nice little break to give the boys some rest and let the rest of the division close that gap in games played.

Still second in the Metro, but Devils and Flyers nipping right on our heals.

Do it.

Teddy Blueger gets the call up tonight. I've read good things about him, but we'll see how he does.

Feels like the Metro is really starting to fall into place. The Devils have been awful in the New Year (4-9-2 since January 1). Columbus hasn't been much better.

Philly and the NYI don't worry me too much - Philly is way too streaky to make a serious run at the division, and the Isles defense & goaltending flat out suck. The Canes and Rags have already signaled they're going to be selling at the deadline.

I like where the Pens are at right now.

Penguins projected lineup
Jake Guentzel -- Sidney Crosby -- Bryan Rust

Carl Hagelin -- Evgeni Malkin -- Phil Kessel

Zachary Aston-Reese -- Riley Sheahan -- Conor Sheary

Dominik Simon -- Theodor Blueger -- Ryan Reaves

Brian Dumoulin -- Kris Letang

Olli Maatta -- Justin Schultz

Ian Cole -- Jamie Oleksiak

Matt Murray

Tristan Jarry

Scratched: Chad Ruhwedel, Matt Hunwick

Injured: Patric Hornqvist (lower body), Tom Kuhnhackl (lower body), Carter Rowney (lower body)

Anyone know a damn thing about Blueger?
I like that Sully put Simon down on the 4th-adds some skill.

81/71/62 could be dynamic offensively but when put together prior they had trouble defensively this year. Kessel and Hagelin leaves the zone much too quickly when paired.

Everything I've read says that he's a two-way player and he's not afraid to throw his body around. His scoring numbers at WBS aren't too bad. Supposedly his knocks are size & explosiveness.

Random aside: I've watched a few interviews he's done, and you'd think he's from rural Alberta, not Latvia.

Reaves with Malkin is a disaster.

Bottom six carried it for a good bit that first period.

The big three can be a whole lot better next 20.
