Strong period by the Pens.

Tanger looks soooo much better than last year.

Yeah, that period was fun to watch.
Shoot, shoot and go get rebounds.
Murray looked good as well.

Other than not burying that 3 on 1, another good period.

Yup, this game has been a joy to watch. I thought it would have more scoring but both teams are playing it smart and simple.

Hagelin and Letang have been very good tonight. Even saw Phil battle on the boards several times.

Loved how they responded.

Murray came back strong and the rest of the team just played it hard.

Great to hear Murray had a good game (I was at the Metallica concert and missed yet another game).

Going to need him, for sure. And while I don’t have a ton of confidence in him for the long haul, that doesn’t mean I’m not rooting like hell for him.

Murray just looked like he lost his confidence...the way he was fighting every puck

Last night was completely different...the old MM, just a steady positional game (he had a couple acrobatics)

The other thing about it is that this is the first game of the season where the F's and D' finally looked like they were on the same page with their rotations. Dmen were pinching but with support. It's amazing to see that this team is capable of clamping down when it wants to.

Was going to mention that whether you're Ken Dryden, Casey DeSmith or Matt Murray, always nice to go a few periods where you're not getting hung out to dry by your teammates repeatedly. Will do wonders for confidence.

Agree with what Brasco said about the forwards/D rotations. It was a great team effort last night. They did a good job of insulating Matthews.
Hagelin was a madman out there and used his speed to open things up. Kessel was playing like it was a playoff game. Johnson had some big hits. The whole team was blocking shots.

Murray looked like the old Murray and his compete level was excellent the entire game. After him, I thought Taveras was the most impressive player on the ice followed by Malkin.

During the game, I was thinking that if the Pen lost I could still be satisfied because of how they were playing. It was fun to watch them last night-not something that could be said the five games prior.
