Letang is a game-time decision.
Forwards need to be better defensively.

Penguins projected lineup
Jake Guentzel -- Sidney Crosby -- Dominik Simon

Carl Hagelin -- Evgeni Malkin -- Phil Kessel

Riley Sheahan -- Matt Cullen -- Patric Hornqvist

Bryan Rust -- Derek Grant -- Daniel Sprong

Brian Dumoulin -- Kris Letang

Olli Maatta -- Jamie Oleksiak

Jack Johnson -- Chad Ruhwedel

Matt Murray

Casey DeSmith

Scratched: Juuso Riikola

Injured: Derick Brassard (lower body)

Have to take back the mo to start the second. That Isle PP seemed to spark them.

I know he is the whipping boy but about the only thing I see JJ bring to the table are a few big hits a game. The penalty he took wasn't very bright. He could have pinched the guy on the wall but he chose to hook him. There was a forward back if the Isle got by JJ and that is part of the problem-I don't think he sees the whole ice well.
Even Errey is ragging on him.
Last game JJ had the point and he deked a few shots trying to move the defender but the defender stood his ground. If JJ had just moved and used a deke he might have gotten his shot off.

No idea what Letang was doing at the end of that PP. He just let his guy skate right by him to be wide open for that pass.

That whole sequence was weird. The Pens overpassed the puck and missed guys with better shots and the next thing you know the puck is behind a bewildered Letang.
Funny thing, the Pens started that PP the same way the Isles ended it shorthanded.

Welp, can't go 0-3 in a shootout and expect to win it.

Helluva game by Murray, I thought.

I'll take the point.

Well that’s about as shitty a SO as you will see. Bailey owned Murray tonight and Murray actually played well. Lame.

I finally figured out Jack Johnson.

You know those fathers who play games with their sons. Like, let's say a father is playing hockey with his 5-year-old son. He can outskate him. He can easily deke him out. He can bowl him over and blow the puck past him. He's pretty much superior to his son by 100-fold.

Yet, he will pull up short. He'll intentionally lose the puck. He'll shoot it at a snails pace. The father will give his son every opportunity to win.

That is Jack Johnson. He looks the part. He has all the tools. Yet when he gets out there, it's like he wants the other team to win.
