There is some guy...I think his name is Liriano?

I hear you friend, I just haven't been hearing much in regards from Liriano's side in regards with if he wants to stay in Pittsburgh.

When can we expect tailion and heredia
A lot rides in pedro at 1b and whether Harrison is a real full time players.
Would really like to see them do better at C as that seems to be the one spot not set
Unless they look at SS

What's wrong with Mercer?

Agree. IMO he's very comparable to top short stops with the bat and was solid with the glove. Catcher is the position that will need upgraded, along with pitching.

As one who has thoroughly criticized Alvarez in the past, I actually like the idea of committing to him at 1b. I just have a feeling he finally puts together a fine season all the way through in 2015.

i didn't say anything was terribly wrong with him
in full time duties at 28 his bat was average to a little below average -- 255/305/387/693

Moreso, considering alvarez moves to 1b and harrison is now the 3b there are no spots left except C that aren't really solidified. so if you wanted to add more offense, i was looking at positions.

i have no bone to pick with mercer.

so .... if they are looking to add anyone via trade or FA before March seems to me it is pitching or catcher. if they think cervelli is it then its pitching. burnett already signed -- so perhaps they are done.

thats the right analysis

with Pedro at 1st and JHay at 3rd, we have no holes in the lineup, except C and P

would like to see us spend money on signing the Pittsburgh Kid to a long term deal

The Great Tabata. Is Barmes back? Chris Stewart? Andrew Lambo?
Seriously, based on how they finished last season, is Snyder the starting RF going in?

Apparently, they traded Ike Davis to the A's. Not clear who/what is coming in return.

Stewart forgot about him. I actually thought Tabata got DFA'd?

I don't think so regarding Tabata, unless I missed it, which is entirely possible.

EDIT...you are correct Luca, Tabata was DFAed in October.

Yeah but he accepted the minor league assignment so I'm sure we'll see him again.
