At Miller Park
Game time: 7:10PM ET
Probable starters:
PIT: Jameson Taillon (2-1, 3.60 ERA)
MIL: Chase Anderson (5-10, 5.40 ERA)

Quote:
Pirates rookie Jameson Taillon will bring his pinpoint command to Miller Park on Saturday night, making his eighth career start against Brewers right-hander Chase Anderson.

Taillon hasn't walked a batter in his last three starts, throwing six innings in each outing while posting a 2.50 ERA. He's walked five total to go with 31 strikeouts since making his Major League debut on June 8. Pittsburgh has won each of the right-hander's last four starts.

Taillon's continued success is crucial for the Pirates as they look to upgrade their rotation before Monday's non-waiver Trade Deadline. Taillon, the 24-year-old rookie, has brought more stability to the group than anyone besides ace Gerrit Cole.

Anderson, meanwhile, is coming off a win over the D-backs on Monday that snapped a four-game losing streak over his previous six starts. During that skid, Anderson posted a 9.13 ERA. He allowed two runs on seven hits over five innings his last time out.

Things to know about this game
• Brewers first baseman Chris Carter has hit 17 home runs at Miller Park, the most by any player in his home ballpark this season.

• This is the latest in a season that the Pirates and Brewers have played their first series against each other since they met during Interleague Play at County Stadium from Aug. 29-31, 1997.

• Ryan Braun (right rib cage tightness) was out of the lineup in Friday's series opener. Braun said he was feeling better, a sign he could return Saturday, but the Brewers were being cautious with him.

My notes:
- The highlighted above is very important. As I said previously, JT is my favorite of the young guns. I believe he's the real deal. Keep it up JT!
- Still waiting on you, Cutch.
- If there are no trades for starters, this is just me, but I roll with the young guns across the board in the rotation: Cole, Taillon, Glasnow, Kuhl, Brault and let the cards fall where they may. Again, Frankie is fucking done. I am sick of Nibbles.

BEAT 'EM BUCS!!!

the rookie last night was acceptable outing. much rather lose giving him a chance then with known crap pitchers like nibbles and frankie. tho i think nibbles and frankie could be productive in bull pen for shorter stints then a starter.. its past time for cutch to man up and lead this team with some inspired play and hit the ball! hes a shell of former self. llike to see more frazier and less jaso. can frazier play first base? I'm not sure of bucs best lineup but at moment too many are Mendoza line hitters!

Down 2-1 so far. Bats have gone cold in the 2nd half of the season. If Melanson is gone now, they should look into the return they can get for Cutch.
