At PNC Park
Game time: 1:35PM ET
Probable starters:
CHC: John Lackey (4-7, 5.26 ERA)
PIT: Jameson Taillon (3-1, 2.90 ERA)

Quote:
John Lackey will try to get back on track on Sunday in the Cubs' series finale against the Pirates. Pittsburgh starter Jameson Taillon is happy to be back.

Taillon will be making his second start since undergoing treatment for testicular cancer. In his last outing, he threw five scoreless innings against the Rockies and got the win. Taillon beat the Cubs on April 16 at Wrigley Field, giving up one unearned run over seven innings.

Lackey has scuffled this season. The veteran has served up 19 home runs, second most in the National League to Bronson Arroyo (22), and he gave up three in his last start against the Mets. Lackey's current ERA of 5.26 is his highest since 2011, when he posted a 6.41 ERA in 28 starts.

"I definitely left some balls over the plate and paid for it," Lackey said after his last start.

Three things to know about this game

• Josh Harrison was expected back in the Pirates' lineup on Sunday. Harrison did not start Saturday against Jake Arrieta, partly because he's 2-for-23 against the Cubs' right-hander. Harrison was batting .333 in 13 games in June.

• Who's the Pirates closer? It depends on the matchups, manager Clint Hurdle says. That means either Juan Nicasio or Felipe Rivero could close. Nicasio had a rough outing on Friday, when he couldn't retire any of the four Cubs batters he faced and was charged with four runs. Rivero entered in the eighth Saturday, and he ended up recording a five-out save.

• Speaking of closers, Cubs manager Joe Maddon wants to try to get Wade Davis more work. Davis appeared in 11 games in April, eight in May, and five in June entering Sunday. Davis was 13-for-13 in save situations, but he has given up one run in each of his last two outings. Those outings were a few days apart, too (last Sunday and Friday).
