Here is the story behind that picture

Quote:
Remember when Steve Simmons, columnist and stooge at the Toronto Sun, kicked off his article about the Maple Leafs trading Phil Kessel with a (later debunked) anecdote about how Kessel used to eat a street hot dog every day? I surely won’t forget that, and two Stanley Cups later, neither has Phil.

Cullen signs a 1 year deal with Minnesota. Thanks for the contributions, Dad. First departure of the off-season I think will really be missed.

Now get to work on the 3 and 4C, GMJR.

Surprised he didn't retire a Penguin. Then again Matt and his wife Bridget are from Minnesota where they met in high school.
Cullen gets a million base salary with extras that could add another 700k so he got paid one last time.

We are less than 50 days until the season starts and the Pens have lots of questions at the center position. After the big 2 that leaves Dea, Simon, McKegg and Guentzel who can play in the middle. In the pipeline there is:

Aston-Reese is the only one I know anything about.

I guess they could move Guentzel to third center but I think this kid is going to break out and be a big time player for us and to best make sure that happens he has to be next to Crosby. Guentzel helps us more on the top line then on the third line.

Aston Reese is apparently LW.
Guentzel isn't playing 3C, according to GMJR.
Rowney, yeah, okay with him playing 4C, but he's your 3C as it stands.
4C? Internal options really haven't played NHL hockey at this point.

Rutherford going back (in PG) to saying 3C could be something that drags into camp or the season. Saying that Sully has told him "he can make it work" with what they have. For October and November, maybe, but sheesh.

I think they're gonna start the season with Wilson and Rowney and the 3/4 C's and see how that goes. If that doesn't go how they envision they'll try Jake at 3C or make a trade.

It's a nice life up there, especially for a young hockey family. I get it.

Minnesota is alright but I would prefer the Western coast of Michigan or the Upper Peninsula around Pictured Rocks NP. Summers up there are supreme.
