They don't deserve them.

Go Red Sox for the rest of the season.

Thanks Jack for staying in as long as you have. You gave it your best shot -- better than Nutting deserved!

What a sad affair. Definitely feel bad for Cutch, J-Hay and a few others, but this ownership deserves to be keel-hauled.

I'll prolly be pulling for the Indians at this point, along with watching the Dodgers pull off perhaps the greatest MLB collapse ever? Yikes!

Thanks for your efforts, Jack.

I didn't participate in game threads this year, even though I have still watched almost every game of this sad season. I just didn't have the heart to say what hascrepeatedly Ben said.

But I appreciate you trying to keep them alive.

This is the year Nutting has finally finally shattered my illusions that he cares about winning unless it's by accident on the cheap.

Oh...and by the way, I really miss Mean Joe.

He hasn't been here since December. I hope we (meaning me) didn't chase him off with our negativity last year, but let me tell you...I'd rather his absence be because of that than the other thing I've been fearing.

Has anyone heard from him? I don't know if anyone here knows him outside the boards.

We could use his irrepresible optimism about now.

Surprised you did the threads this long, Jack. This team, if you can call them that, is a complete disgrace. Nutting is who he is. Coonelly and Huntington just toe the company line and steal a paycheck. I feel for Hurdle as he got the most of what he could there for a while, but he's taken them as far as he can. Now we're back to another losing streak, and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they go past 20 years.

Reds are better than the Pirates...slapped them around all season.

Pirates only one game up in the loss column over the Reds.

The cellar is a distinct possibility, but I bet even that won't embarrass Nutting into doing something different.

The entire piece of shit team checked out a while ago. I am cheering for the Reds to get past these useless fucks.

The Red Sox fire John Farrell after his teams won a World Series and three AL East pennants. More pennants than any other Red Sox manager, mind you. His teams just failed to advance in the playoffs.

Meanwhile in Pittsburgh, the Pirates reward Clint Hurdle with a contract extension despite two straight losing seasons.

I don't think the manager is the problem..the roster and penny pinching moves are killers.

No, Clint isn't but I think he's taken them as far as he can. 2013 was the high point during his tenure. Highly doubt the team will return to that point.
