Love golf, my Bro and I (OrangeSteel) play a lot of rounds together.

Headed to Bandon Dunes for my 6th year in a row in March (PLEASE GIVE ME GOOD WEATHER).

I have a Masters Party every year with a Southern Menu, I will post that in a few weeks.

I really want Tiger to get his shit together, enjoy watching him contend, makes for a great tournament. He clearly has some green-side issues right now.

Hopefully this thread gets going especially in the off-season, (I call it golf-season) love to see pic's hear stories of great rounds and courses.

Keep'em coming!

Looks like Tiger's swing coach and Patrick Reed's life coach may be the same guy.

Read that the other day, hell of an article.

He does not make it easy on himself, among others and while he is playing in a tournament.

I've not been but heard Bandon is unbelievable. That's awesome.

Reed is well known to be a complete asshole and a cheat. Interesting in a lot of ways and not really surprising given the nature of competitive boys junior golf. Definite advantage for him to have taken the route he has, even if he isn't liked by anyone. He's very comfortable taking it low with that Monday qualifier attitude

Koepka is a stud and is going to be the example of more common path taken to the PGA tour since they changed Q school. It's not worth going to Q school for exemption on the Web.com tour. The well known premier amateurs will turn pro and take a shot with a few sponsors exemptions to get at least provisional status for PGA tour. Most everyone else will head to play in Europe or Asia. Much better schedule there in terms of consistently getting into tournaments and potentially getting status on tour. Running around to Monday qualifiers here in the US and then scrambling to get in that weekend somewhere when you don't make it is just a shitty lifestyle. And any tour less than Web.com offers ZERO status opportunities and is a complete rip off for the players. Peter Uilhein is doing the same thing. Web.com is going to be more of a safety net for guys falling off tour than a stepping stone up to the tour, which will hurt it in the long run.

I'm a little nervous that fucking ESPN is expanding it's Master's coverage. They better not fuck up what is the greatest sporting event on TV. Such a great event. Masters draw in AM, then watch golf all day after playing.

If Tiger doesn't make the cut at Torrey Pines this weekend, he's pretty much done. That's about as close to playing on his home course as it gets.

I like Jim Furyk - and also a huge Steelers fan and season ticket holder. Crazy swing but effective.

Watching replay of today's round at Torrey.

Tiger is done. He is not even a tour player right now. I know he withdrew because of back issues, but that's a result of his swing. His head is moving in 3 different planes during his swing. That's unbelievable.

Tour need a villain so it's not necessarily bad.

Hell of a tournament over the weekend, great field and what a finish!

Jason Day is a focused dude, feels he should win just about every tournament he plays in.

JB Holmes should have gone for it on 18 his first time around, very surprised he didn't.

Lucas Glover has some serious issues with his putting, he really needs to move to a claw - grip like Faldo was suggesting.

In the end, Jason Day's ball flight won him the tournament with that shot on 16 in the playoff. Hell of a shot, just landed so softly!

Hopefully Chris Berman is doing something else this weekend, I can't stand that they give that fat fuck airtime during the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

I had the opportunity to attend the final round of The Masters last year. What a great experience. Anyway, I red an update that Allenby was proven to never have been to a strip club. Someone else was arrested for illegally using his credit cards.

Cant believe I missed this thread

Dan Smith - Jason Day has a giant set of stones. Great call.

I played in the 2006 Australian Amateur championship that Jason Day won ( strokeplay)

I watched Jason Day shoot 65 in the morning at Royal Hobart and I went out in the afternoon and played my butt off to manage a 74. Even at the age of 17 he had the looks of a world beater.

At last years Australian open I watched the pros practice on the putting green after their morning rounds. Jason Day spent over an hour working on a three foot left to right downhill putt. Using a putting guide he hit a couple of hundred putts, never missing one, but constantly asking his caddie to check his alignment. He was very focused and very particular. His focus to detail was greater than all.

Very humbling game when you see the worlds best destroy a golf course that makes you look silly. But so very enjoyable to watch

Major Kudos there Aussie.....

You may have felt like you were scraping it around but very few people can say they played a course of that caliber set up for a National Amateur event and kept it just north of level par. No shame in that 74 at all.....

That's awesome.....

Northern Trust this weekend.......leaders at -5 right now.

Who ya got?

I'm going with JB Holmes

Thanks SuperK ( wont tell you about the 2nd round 80 to miss the cut)

Lots of blasts from the past with good first rounds. Great to see Goosen back in some form ( great swing)

I am partial to Geoff Ogilvy on that list. He is an absolute golf history tragic and purist of the game.

Watney and Spaeth stand out for me.

Who you got?

Amazing finish to yesterday's Northern Trust, what difficult last couple of holes.

Dustin Johnson is kicking himself today on that approach shot on the Par 5 17th.

He CANNOT miss the green from the fairway there, if he makes a Par, there and on 18 he finishes at -7 and there is no playoff.

Impressed with Hahn, seems like he has figured out on to stay on Tour for the past few years, and yesterday, figured out how to win on tour.

One week closer to Bandon Dunes!

One week closer to The Masters!

When Rory is the Corey Pavin of the threesome, you got some bombers in your group:

The thing I never understood about Tiger was, why when he was kicking everybodies ass, dominating the sport, he decides to fire his coach, hire a new coach and overhaul his swing? Why did he mess with a good thing is the perception I have?

He's an egomaniac and Butch Harmon wouldn't kowtow to him.....

Hank Haney tried to be a "yes man" for Tiger, Inc. but also grew tired of his bullshit......

Sean Foley is just an assclown and fit in with Tiger's downward spiral.....

Bottom line beyond all the instruction, though, is that he can't hit the driver. That was fine 15 years ago cause he could "stinger" his way around tough golf courses, had an impeccable short game, and made an unbelievable amount of tough putts.

He's now competing against guys that hit irons every bit as good as he can, chip and putt better, and can confidently pull driver the whole way around. Even if Tiger still had the game he had back then, his reign of domination would have ended.

Make no mistake about it, though. What he did was UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE for a very long time. Dude was every ounce of the hype and more. Plenty of these current players know Tiger is really the one who has made them rich......

This. Tiger was definately on a historical dominant run back in his prime. However, he wasn't doing it against this current crop.

Back then he had that would fold anytime Tiger had the lead.

These new bombers are young, confident, cocky, and have ridiculous amounts of game.

People talk as if Tigers health is the only thing keeping him from catching Jack. I don't think he catches him even if 100% healthy because there are simply too many young guns that can get hot any given week to compete with.

Had he held on to the lead a few years back when he was leading the Masters with like 6 holes left he would be much better position. Too tall a task a this point.

Not to mention his redesigned swing is horrific by his as well as the new standards out there.

Take vid of Rory to new coach and say "I want this"...

On a side note, taking the day off and going to do a driver fitting. See if a new stuck can knock the current driver out of the bag. They use the Trackman Doppler radar thing so that will be interesting. Hopefully not in a bad way.

Two years ago he won five tournaments.

His health fell off a cliff, then it got into his head, lost his confidence and now we see a complete allostatic breakdown.

Really not all that different from what happened Troy, except the shelf life in golf is longer.

Reed in the lead at the Honda, conditions look pretty tough.

Let us know how you made out on the Trackman and what you bought, 876

I had my "idle hands" day last weekend.

Was in Atlanta for my middle daughter's soccer tournament, staying in Marrietta. Saturday was fine but the skies opened up Sat night and the Sunday matches all end up getting cancelled. So we start rolling back to SC when the thought came to me "I think the PGA Superstore in Duluth isn't far from here". 20 minutes later we are in Wonkaville as far as I'm concerned.

She goes off looking for clothes and I go to the club fitting area.....

I need to preface this with that fact that I'm not a "new club" kind of guy. I've got friends who are always showing up with new shit. That's definitely not me. I've had the same TM R7 irons for probably 8 or 9 years, Original R1 driver and 3W. Used to have 3 Vokeys but they have all migrated into my daughter's bag (you understand this if you have kids). Also when I play golf, I don't cuss, carry on, throw clubs, etc. If I'm playing well, great. If I'm playing not so well, still great. I hate when people ruin everyone else's good time by acting like an ass especially when.....dum dum dum....you ain't that good. Point is, my clubs are wearing down, 6 and 7 recently dehozzled during normal play, and they have quite a bit of mileage on them, so I had it in my mind that new equipment is around the corner.

2 weeks ago I had my oldest girl out at the range. I've got about 6 months left where I can still beat her from the mens tees. Definitely needed new clubs to at least go down swinging.....

So back to the PGA Superstore. I tell the guy I don't want to go at this brand specific. Keep handing me stuff you think would be good and we'll go from there. I hit a ton of different brands. Ended up going back to Taylor Made. RS1s. Really nice feel. Added the Gap and a 60.

Since the spending spree was on, I figured lets start hitting the big stick. This ended up far from expectation. Even though I hit the R15 and the D3 a little longer, I ended up getting the Srixon 545. Really great look, great feel. Also got the F45 FW 17 degrees. First time I had even hit a Srixon. When I missed the other drivers (My driver miss is block right), it's jail. Even when I missed the Srixon it was only 15 yards right of target.

Most expensive soccer tournament I've been to....

So I'm all set for the 2015 "campaign", which like I said will likely end with me no longer being able to beat my 14 year old daughter..........and I'll be perfectly fine with that!

You and me both. I get shit that works then stick with it. My irons are Ping i3+ that have been in the bag since 2003. I have an old Ping 61* copper lob wedge that's been in the bag since the 90s. It's kinda become the go to bunker club so I've never replaced it.

3 woods and hybrids are the clubs that he rotated thru as I have struggled to find a 3 wood I like. And I've tried a bunch.

I'm a high spin player, especially with the woods so some clubs that people love I spin off the planet. Ping G25 is a good example. Can't hit it. It's like I'm hitting 230 yard wedges it goes so high. I end up losing distance. Plus I play in the wind a lot.

Current driver is a Nakashima. Most won't recognize the name but serious golfers will. It's a boutique company. Decent presence in California. They make EXCELLENT products. I was fitted for my driver 6 years ago. At the time, it was the first driver that got my spin and launch into the range I was looking for. My driver prior to that was a Titleist 905R. Good stick. But I was spinning this thing at like 3500. Way too high. Nakashima knocked off the spin big time. Yet are expensive though. Heads go for $400 + whatever the cost of the shaft you were fitted for.

And that's the kicker. Some shafts were $75. But that escalates all the way up to a $1,200 Ozik they had. Shaft I fit into was $300 so all in an expensive stuck but damn did it deliver.

Problem today is that I've lost about 6-7 mph off my club head speed from where I was six years ago so I was working too hard to get results with current driver.

Ended up getting fit into a 9* Ping G30 LS (low spin head) with the Tour 80 shaft.

It was the club that have the most consistent numbers. Tried the Titleist D3 with a Diamana WhiteBoard, the Taylor R15, Nike, and Callaway. Ping have me the best numbers. Which works cuz I think Ping makes a quality product.

Club arrives in a couple weeks so crossing fingers the numbers translate to the course.

After this complete meltdown by Poulter, I'll be very disappointed in 2016 if the American Ryder Cup fans at Hazeltine aren't wearing Honda Classic shirts and carrying signs with pictures of the E*Trade baby from the Shankapotamus commercial.

Those are awesome!

Have you played rounds with them?

Do you feel comfortable hitting down on the ball??
