Just a horrible horrible episode.

I didn't think there was any way this half-season could possibly be more boring than the last.

But damn if they didn't prove me wrong.

Not to mention the crappy writing. I spend half my time saying "Why the hell would they do that?!?". At least, that's what I think when I'm actually paying attention, which happening less and less frequently.

I thought id missed an episode there for a minute. Sasha just appears in the prison cell, all the gang is all the sudden on a beach. The whole thing where they join forces and heroically shoot all the walkers is about as dumb as it gets. According to the last several seasons, 2-3 of them with knives could have killed them easily. Ugh. I'll keep watching , but this show needs to be put down like a lame horse.

Couldn't have said it better myself. The writing is just god awful anymore.

Maybe I missed something during the season when I was bored out of my mind and probably doing something on my phone instead of watching...but why in the hell would Sasha go all kamikaze on the Saviors compound in the first place? I realize she wanted to kill Negan and thought it was the only way to end all the bullshit, and didn't care if she died in the process...but did she really think she was going to get to Negan? She saw him walk around the building surrounded by a bunch of his goons before rushing in. The chances of success were so astronomically low I don't see how any intelligent person could have looked at that and thought it was anything but needless suicide.

And then, as RS pointed out, they needlessly spend a good chunk of the ammo that they just secured on a bunch of walkers that have been rendered pretty much harmless at this point in the series. They really need a way to make the walkers a threat again. Find a way for them to evolve and become faster/strong. Something. Right now, they're not much more than props.

I like how everyone from Atlanta is now "expert navigator" in DC without maps or a compass.

You take away our cell phones, and 99% of people are getting hopelessly lost every day.

I get that the place they call home is Alexandria. But there is nothing remotely similar to Alexandria VA outside of DC. Looks about as rural as it gets.

PS: Are you pissed the rape scene you've been hoping for didn't pan out?

No less plausible than 2 groups fighting 3 different groups in street clothes all knowing who to shoot and not shoot.

But at what point do people start telling Rick to fuck off and stop following the guy? He appears to strategize about as well as Haley.

LMAO at the garbage people riding around in garbage trucks. I hope that was intended to be funny and not just really stupid writing.

Also, they are HORRIBLE with the sense of time passing in this show. I was like WTF? when Maggie's baby was standing and looked to be at least 2 years old.

While I admit to thinking the same thing, it's a show based on a comic book. I'm OK giving them some suspension of belief on some things like that.

I'm far more pissed that I sat through a boring season, hoping for the payoff and a resolution with Negan, and all I got was a short gun fight and another cliffhanger.

Which means they're going to drag Negan out for yet another season of slow-ass-molasses plot development.

I'm honestly not sure if I want to sit through that again.

I thought that was Judith? But shouldn't she be around 5-6 by now?

And I was thinking Negan was on to Eugene about Sasha dying. And if Eugene is such a total coward, how was he able to be standing on that truck verbally challenging Rick? Wasn't he scared they'd shoot him?

I think the show has only been over the course of a couple of years.

Still it's screwed up, Carl looked like he was 7 at the start, now he looks 16.

OK, I guess that has to be the explanation. Suppose I missed why she's hanging out over there.

That's the problem with this show. They spend like 10 minutes of flashbacks between two characters no one really ever cared about, to try to create some artsy suicide....and ignore a lot of the little things that help tie crap together.

I don't read the comics, so is there a lot in the story line after Negan dies?

I've gotten most of the story from Wikipedia/Internet. I don't care enough about the show to worry if I'm spoiling anything.

And what are you really going to spoil? This show is nothing more, now, than going from one conflict with another survivor community to the next.

I'm about done with the show - I'm more interested in seeing an actual move toward rebuilding and re-connecting society. The whole "warring clan" thing is completely played out.

Quite honestly, it's a little difficult to believe that, in the US, so many of these communities would be run by sociopaths and crazy people. And why are there few/none with former military experience? Where's the community led by a former Army colonel kicking ass and taking names?

Or just the military in general. It's like the entire military just disappeared. I don't think a bunch of roving bands of thugs are going to take out the entire US military in the couple years the story has taken place.

And the almost completely harmless zombie population sure as hell isn't going to do it. Some chick with a sword can take down 20 zombies by herself, but we're supposed to believe Navy SEALs and Green Berets with a full arsenal never stood a chance?

A prison with a chain link fence was able to keep hordes of zombies at bay, but none of the military bases survived?

There isn't a single air force installation still operable that isn't carpet bombing the hordes of zombies into oblivion?

There's just a lot of things about the story are conveniently forgotten.

Or that fact that in the timeframe of the show zombies would of totally decomposed into nothing.

So many wtf's im sure it's why the original creative writers of the show dropped.

That's why there aren't many left out there and aren't much of a threat. Supposedly they can go into an extremely low metabolic "hibernation" state. But Negan mentioned a problem with his walker-wall literally decomposing and falling apart.

As for the military, yeah that's a fairly big hole. The zombies move too slow, and the turning process happens too slowly, to over-run anything, much less trained armies. I've never watched the prequel series (and have no interest in doing so), but how the zombie "herd" reached critical mass is hard to resolve based on what we know.

For comparison, The Strain did the outbreak and spread very well.

Here's another good one for ya....it's been at least two years - gasoline goes bad long before then.

If you took gas/cars out of the equation, the dynamic changes massively.

I want to see these people start running out of shit - candles, propane, batteries, etc..

Why I have stopped watching. Too insufferable with the melodrama/soap opera crap. Not the real feel IT started out with, anymore.
Fear the Walking Dead has managed to keep my attention. Once that series returns I'll be intrigued. It's still fairly young in it's inception though so we'll see how things unfold.
Into the Badlands has returned and I've started to warm up to that series. The first season wasn't as good as I'd hoped. Still young in it's inception too.
