Surprised none of you political wackos posted about this.

Man was a national treasure and his show was just about the only political round table worth watching. Rest in peace, John.

Bye bye!

(Hope you get the reference.)

I used to talk to him and his crew all the time in chat. Even though they were anonymous they were completely transparent and you could figure out that were using chat as a group to talk among themselves. I guess they thought they were disguised. I use to watch the show just to see which line of mine they would lift that week. Matthews was the worst, good lord

Some were real dunces like Elenore Clift who didn't even know what form of government that we have. McLaughlin even had to say I was right and she was wrong. Geez, even when she typed you could tell she was yelling! Margaret Carlson (who Im pretty sure quit the group because of me, lol), Fred asshole Barnes, Pat B, Mort internet ball breaker Kondracke, etc: they all showed up and a frightening amount of time they didn't know what they were talking about, that includes McLaughlin. I guess they were too busy thinking up troll-like comebacks to check their facts.

Mind you I haven't watched in forever. Pretty much quit when Kudlow showed up all the time.

I loved the show with the passion of a hundred burning suns. Especially when John would ask guests to rate things from zero to "metaphysical certainty." Dude never stopped being a Jesuit.

He was a Rhode Island boy. Ran as a Republican back in the day against Senator John Pastore. Certain defeat in a state where machine Democrat politics rules to this day. Worked for both Nixon and Ford. His show had a long run (nearly 30 years). He had a long run, too. Made it to 89. RIP John.
