http://deadspin.com/a-running-list-of-espn-layoffs-1794664091

Deadspin has a running list of those getting fired. As of right now, here are some notable names:

- Ed Werder (NFL)
- Joe McDonald, Pierre LeBrun, and Scott Burnside (basically all of their NHL staff except Melrose)
- A whole slew of college reporters

There's obviously a lot of filler in these debate shows that can be chopped. Outside of PTI, do any of these shows actually bring in serious numbers of viewers?

PTI's ratings have dipped in recent years, too. Though that could just be a result of people cutting ESPN entirely.

John Buccigross will be let go (his contract expires in July and won't be renewed), so it looks as if ESPN is cutting its NHL coverage down to the bare bone.

In positive news, Trent Dilfer was among the cuts today.

This was from two weeks ago.

I only turn on ESPN for Football

And does anyone really complain if they're at a restaurant with ESPN on and there is no sound? Tells you a ton how far they've fallen. Hell I remember when Sportscenter used to be 30 (thirty!!) minutes in length
