If Western PA starts playing 8 on 8 the sport is certainly doomed.

Two words: Red Zone. The NFL is killing its own ratings.

These stupid monochrome unis on Thurs nite football aren't helping.

Especially San Diego...

There is almost no uni better than the AFL powder blues, but they fuck with it.

I wouldn't tell them that, unless they'd let me buy individual games PPV on the weeks I want to.

how many people are NFL-centric and how many are Team-centric. I mean do you love NFL and love the NFL Ticket so you can see the most relevant games? Or do you want to watch a specific team no matter what? I bet they would make out selling individual games a la carte to markets where that game isn't shown that day. I'd pay up to $20 to have individual Steelers games sent to my TV, the ones that aren't locally broadcast.

Really? I thought the Chargers color rush uniforms were the best ones I've seen so far. I loved them.

Fully agree Ice. Also, Fantasy football IMO has undermined the traditional viewership (whether in stadium or televised) that the NFL has enjoyed for the past 60+ years. Why watch a full game when you can just check the red zone channel for scoring plays and follow your player(s) stats online.

The good of it, is why watch a full Ravens game when I can see 20% of the Steelers game live on the Red Zone?

What would help ratings is making it super easy for everyone to watch the game they want. Yesterday I had the Red Zone and a choppy online view of the Steelers game.

You might say "Buy NFL Ticket", Usually 12 of the 16 Steelers games are on regular TV where I live, so I'm not buying the ticket for 4 weeks of viewing. At least sell the ticket on a weekly basis for 1/16th of the season price.

I think it will come to that eventually. Maybe sooner than later. I imagine sales for the Sunday Ticket have decreased too. When they decrease enough they'll start making other options available to continue to squeeze the last bit of revenue out, that they can.

Yup, and to a large extent, fantasy/casual viewers have caught up, percentage-wise, to the team-based viewer who will watch the whole game.

Nick also makes a good point, I went to the bar to watch this past week, but, really, probably would have been better saving the couple of bucks watching Red Zone.

"Fantasy football", "ticket prices", "Red Zone", take your pick of the two words hurting ratings, but it's for damn sure not "Colin Kaepernick," "touchdown celebrations" or "political protests."
