We are nearing the end of a golden age for QB: Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Eli, Brees.

Now guys like Stafford, Flacco, Carr, Ryan, and Cousins are cashing in big time and they aren't of the same caliber. The NFL has become way too reliant on the passing game, and unless the next generation of QB's can perform at the same level as the guys mentioned above, the quality of the product will really suffer. Or....we'll see a shift in Offensive philosophy. Who knows.

Anytime a team signs a QB to franchise money it changes the team. They must rely more on the draft than FA. Ozzie Newsome looked like a genius until he had his salary cap locked up and had to rely more on the draft. Now he looks like shit.

Who is going to be the first 30 million/year QB?

Stafford should count his lucky stars.

Anybody signing C2/3 in the NFL for chasing a football on a grass field should count their lucky stars.

I have to say that Carr looks like the real deal. Still has a ways to go developmental wise and that's Ok. Ryan took his sweet time developing and has a shot at championships. The others..., meh.

When you're the best player (and the QB to boot) on a bad team, you're gonna get paid

Stafford is a decent QB and when there are barely passable ones (pardon the pun) around it makes sense for the Lions to pay him

Agree 100%.

It's almost impossible to win a championship without a great QB. Look at the last 20 SB winners.

Elway (2), Kurt Warner, Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Ben (2), Peyton Mannig (2), Eli Manning (2), Brees, Rodgers, Flacco, R Wilson, Brady (5).

I would say Flacco, Dilfer and Johnson are the only guys who at least aren't Hall of Famers or at least border line Hall of Famers to date. Those 3 teams had damn good defenses. Russell Wilson is only 28 and in his prime.
