They benched a 2 time Super Bowl MVP in favor of Geno Fucking Smith.

Unreal.

I would have no problem with a Ben McAdoo public lynching.

Guess you guys DO give a fuck about Eli.

I've always maintained that as a Steeler fan, I will be forever indebted to Santonio Holmes. Likewise, as an unabashed Patriots HATER, I will always be indebted to Eli Manning.

Just imagine what life would be like if Eli didn't take out the Pats those 2 times.

Imagine how even more insufferable their fuckface fans would be.

If I ever see Eli out anywhere, I'm buying him a beer.

Last line of your post sums up my feelings pretty neatly, KC.

Cardinals? Need to continue their pattern of signing old, castoff QBs.

Come on Swiss, it is a pretty big story. The thing that strikes me is that there are a lot of parallels between Ben and Eli’s careers; similar respected ownership for the organizations they play for; same draft class, etc. If the Lers’ were 2-9, we would likely be calling for Ben to be benched (well some would) but imagine the shock if that were to happen in favor of Jones or Dobbs.

I think the biggest part of the story is that it is the end of an era, likely signaling what is probably the best run in Giants history. And it is coming at the hands of bowling lane oil salesman Ben fucking MacAdoo.

Just like I imagine how much sweeter life would be if Pete Carroll and Dan Quinn didn’t have the most asinine brainfarts of all time.

Right on.

I will never talk shit about the Giants or Eli for taking out those cheating fucks, 2x. A special place in my heart for them and easily the best super bowl victories next to our Steeler SB wins!

McAdoo is a clown, Reese is a clown. They all should be shown the door. I'd clean house now. Eli to the Jags!

This is all about "sucking for Luck". Ever since the Colts did it a few years back Pandora's box has been opened. There's too much talent/draft capital to be won by losing your remaining games. For the Giants FO it's business - not football - at this point. Eli will be starting somewhere else next year, no doubt.

I doubt that. Smiff or the other guy is not their franchise QB. Didn't they already make a statement that Eli will remain the starter in 2018 and will retire a Giant?

Oh, I certainly know Smiff or Webb are not the future starter at QB. The player will be drafted - very early - next year. Or they will take that top 3 pick and parlay it into several top picks and still get a could be top QB (or at least better than what they have in their two back ups) OR they could use those top picks to reload the O line and RB positions.. I think Eli is under a pretty serious contract, but he may asked to be rereleased/traded, at the end of the year, after this stunt. If he stays, they will be set for the next few years with upgraded O line and RB rooms. Again, it's business not football at this point, just like what the Colts did.

The giants have won a playoff game in only 2 of Eli’s 14 seasons. That’s pathetic. 20 active QBs have a higher career QB rating than him. His career completion percentage is under 60%. If not for two playoff runs where his defense carried him he’d be known as a bust.

They don't want manning to get injured or the rookie 3rd string hurt either

Geno is expendible. Bloom at the IR list on both sides of line

Jenkins is latest to IR

If Tomlin had been fired a couple years back like a lot of esteemed posters argued for McAdoo would have been one of the prominent names up for the job

Right now over on the Giants board some guy named Meadowlands72 is going on and on about GBI. Giants Best Interests. The Giants sit 3rd in the draft order in a draft where there are two big time QB prospects. Starting Geno Smith means they finish with a top 2 pick which is the best interest of the franchise. Not having Eli go out and win a couple to finish 4-12. Shot for that 2-14, draft the young QB and be set for the next 14 years.

Is he complaining about clock management as well?

It's always felt wrong to me that teams can tank on purpose for higher draft picks or that fans would root for that to happen, though I don't know what the solution would be.

Seems to me that benching Eli would have to be approved by ownership. The Maras are not weak or stupid.

The answer is obvious. Swiss developed a Giants fan second personality during their Super Bowl wins over his hated New England Patriots, and the stress of both Tomlin's terrible clock management and the impending matchup against said Patriots has caused his dormant Giants fan personality to manifest itself.

Where does Meadowlands72 recommend visiting for the best pizza in the 5 Boroughs?

Step ahead of you, Ice. Keep in mind, I was in NYC last weekend, already posted in another OP about Artichoke Pizza in Chelsea, and garnered a recommendation for John's of Bleeker Street.

Well it seems like either he will retire or be traded. As he may follow his big brother and retire on top with another team, if not with the G-Men. Ride off into the sunset.
