This is indeed sick. Nance was making reference to Arnie watching his beloved Steelers even to the bitter end of a terrible game. Arnie passed this evening.

My bad. 5 beers and 3 shots of whiskey got me in a confrontational mood. Posted in the Wrong thread.

Mr. Palmer is an Icon and a Champion of Champions. He will be missed. Rest in Peace.

Quite possible that the Steelers were the final nail today.

I first learned of this in Swiss's thread as I only paid attention intermittently after mid-third qtr. Sad. Nail in coffin indeed.

Have Nance's email? He needs to under that his reference to Arnie directly or indirectly relates to Arnies passing. Nance needs to repent, quit broadcasting, live in a convent.

Great man representative of a happier time.

In his prime he could blast it 300 yards with a persimmon wood. With today's equipment, he might have been able to outdrive Dustin Johnson.

Is there a possibility Nance had inside info AP was taking a turn for the worse? Maybe mentioning him yesterday was his way of lending support?

I don't think Nance had any ill motives about the mention.

This is what I think. Nantz is a golf insider and I have a feeling Palmer's family notified certain people that his health was declining. The timing of his comment was uncanny. I'd bet money he knew.

I am sure he had an insider, he was getting prepped for some heart surgery, but then was told he had passed away afterwards

Arnie was a great man....a legend that transcended his sport in so many ways. I only wish we still had role models like that who know what true class is all about.
