Just saw that.

Another defensive bust under Tomlin and Colbert.

38-yo on the last legs of his career replaces a 27-yo first round draft pick.

It's definitely not the wrong move.

Just more sad that it had to be done.

What's the word on Dupree?

Did Jarvis make Ron's list of first names that should not be drafted?

I know the following names made the list:

Dri
Limas
Martavis
Senquez
Shaquille
Shamarko
Alameda
Crezdon
Evander
Rashard
Alonzo

Pretty sure Ron called Jervis "Stenosis Jones"

I'm really not trying to pile on Tomlin, because the pitchforks are already out, but Jervis was pretty bad Sunday, and the fact that Harrison was on the BENCH during the last drive where a sack could have ended the game, and Jervis was out there getting swallowed up play after play, pisses me off to no end.

But that's Tomlin for ya. Suck ass in October and "unleash hell" in November. As if he was void of any evidence before this Monday morning that Jervis is a pass rushing failure, and keeping Harrison on the field was the right goddamn choice. A guy that lives and breathes black and gold and would like nothing more than to have won the game with a sack of Prescott. A guy that will no longer be playing football soon.

Thanks Mike!

Ron was right.

Just like IC!

I don't because we'd be getting a litany of "See what happens when you let rookies play?" posts...

Something about "veteran leadership"

Why this is just now happening is beyond me.

Should have been pretty obvious that nothing was going to change.

Good to know we will only have 1 starting capable OLB on the team this offseason in Dupree.

If Tomlin was smart he should had just allowed Colbert to select the players. That way he could had said, like Cowher did with , he does what he can with whats given to him. Instead its all on Tomlin. Failure after fuckin failure.

Perhaps the Timmons Woodley draft was Tomlin keeping his yap shut

Lawrence Timmons
LaMarr Woodley
Matt Spaeth
Daniel Sepulveda
Ryan McBean
Cameron Stephenson
William Gay
Dallas Baker

Yep, emphasis on power over speed, yep sure looks that way.

The good news is that defense is Tomlin's specialty.

There is not one guy on that list that Ron was wrong about. I do miss both Ron and IC. They really do know football. While I didn't always agree with them, I thought they did add a lot to the board.

With no Cam Heyward, Harrison is going to find it very hard to do much of anything out there.

The thing that I have never understood about our 3-4 defense is why we are so predictable with our OLBs, our pass rushers. Marcus Gilbert did an impressive job on Von Miller last season in the two games that he faced him, why exactly was the best pass rusher in the NFL going up against our RT? Let that sink in for a while. Why should any team put their best pass rusher up against the opposition's LT, up against their best pass protector? Denver chooses to maximize the talent of Miller by lining him up against the RT, every game. If he were in Pittsburgh he would strictly line up against the LT every game and drop into coverage too much.

I would love to see Harrison lined up on the left side with Stephon Tuitt for the remainder of the season. This is not hard stuff to figure out, but apparently it is for Tomlin and Bulter and previously with LeBeau.

Tomlin or Colbert or whoever hands that draft card in was way quicker than Jervis ever was, And this aint hindsight, it was loudly frowned upon here by myself and many many others. What a garbage pick.

a 27 year old edge rusher being replaced by a 37 year old edge rusher is like a 27 year old RB being replaced by a 37 year old RB. Or a 37 year old neurosurgeon being replaced by a 77 year old neurosurgeon with a tremor.... It means you irredeemably suck...

the fact that we figured this out last year and Tomlin is just getting to it means he irredeemably sucks...

If Tomlin had been the Seahawks coach when they signed Flynn for a boatload and drafted Wilson, he'd be getting around to putting Wilson it about now too....no ability to evaluate talent just go with inertia

I never got why JJ was a first round pick to begin with...the only thing more mystifying was the hype about Clowney when he was in decline in college.

Jarvis blew his assignment on the Game-clinching TD to Zeke Elliott. That's a big, big no-no on a team where the coaches are struggling to get the players to do their job and not try to do too much.

Just read for the millionth time that Colbert selects the players with "a lot of input from Tomlin". I truly believe that's how their system works. Besides, there have been a lot of really good draft picks under Tomlin. A lot. Better than anybody in that draft you just put up.

Just no Super Bowl wins since February 2009. Soon to be eight years ago. But we're not the Browns, of course.

Its both of them. Not 1 defensive pro bowler in 9 seasons.
