He's our playmaker.

Plays too reckless and misses too many tackles to be a truly great, consistent player, but he's too talented and too athletic to not put up games like this every now and then. Huge in the second half when the O was sputtering.

I'd say he's just about right where Troy was in his 3rd year. Troy had plenty of his own issues staying healthy and 100%, as well.

Can’t teach blazing speed. He has it and he’s getting better.

Meh I have 0 issue with him missing some tackles. Even when he does he sets others up for big plays. On that 4th down I doubt there is a LBer in the league that could've made that play. Shazier has more explosion & athleticism that any other LBer in the NFL his biggest issue has always been the tub. He stays out of it and he will have a shot at being something special.

Starting to show the same smarts and instincts Troy had.

Lebeau built his defense around Woodson, and then Troy. I think that's probably easier to do with those guys playing DB/S then it is with a LBer.

I like Butler. Never been on the hate bandwagon there, well except for the AFCC which I'd assume was hardly all on Butler.

That's a stretch. Troy was otherworldly and 2005 was one of his better seasons. Shazier's instincts will never come close to Polamalu's.

Yeah.....but let's wait until the end of the year. We haven't seen the guy healthy for a full year - a healthy Shazier is, IMO, an All-Pro and darkhorse DPOY candidate.

Yep, Troy was very good in 2005. His third year. This is Shazier's fourth season and hopefully we get a full, healthy year.
