Doesn't mean much but nice to hope.

The universal preseason favorite has been dethroned as the No. 1 Super Bowl favorite, with the Pittsburgh Steelers jumping the New England Patriots for the top spot. New England is one dominant performance away from retaking favorite bragging rights, but the Steelers bounced back from a brutal Week 3 loss to the Bears to beat up on the division rival Ravens. The Saints found themselves rising for the second straight week, and the Chiefs have continued their steady climb as the final undefeated team in the NFL. In the NFC, things are more wide open than the AFC, where bettors seem to have staked their odds with the "elite." However, anything can happen in the coming weeks. Here's how everything shook out this week.

The Green Bay Packers turned in a strong performance against the Chicago Bears in Week 4, solidifying their spot as NFC favorites. The AFC is a strange conference, with a lot of teams that are perceived either middle-of-the-road or flukey. The NFC and AFC South are almost diametrically opposed to each other in the eyes of bettors, with those placing bets unsure of which AFC South team will come out of the ugly fray on top and which NFC South team can crawl its way to the top of a tough division. The AFC North is easily the most dominated division in the NFL right now, with the Steelers sitting near 85 percent odds to take it.

I would be ecstatic if the Steelers go all the way & be happy if they just beat NE in the playoffs but have Steelers yet played a good NFL team this season?

No (I don't think any of our first 4 opponents finishes over .500). Also not a big believer in JAX.

Only games on our schedule that worry me are @KC, GB and NE. But we'll fiddle fuck our way to 5 or 6 losses, somehow.

Maybe they will be a "Well Oiled Machine" peaking for the playoffs! Wouldn't hurt to have the home field advantage either.

Got them for $20 at 9-1 just last week .... after a loss is always a good time to get our annual "win it all" tickets.

We also always put $10 on Tampa as mom lives there and then $10 on two more team from each conference. We only ick teams at 15-1 or higher as less than that is barely worth it. Over the years we have hit twice on the Steelers and we also had the Giants the first time they beat cheater Brady - that year we got them for 60-1 when they were 0-2 and won back $610. Also put $10 each in 2014 on Ben (60-1), Bell (25-1) & Brown (18-1) to have the top yardage in their categories. Ben tied, Brown was tops and bell was 2nd so on a $30 bet I got back $480.

This year our other teams are Titans (23-1), Iggles (30-1), Lions (33-1), Bucs (40-1) and Texans (50-1).

Obviously my preference is to win with the Steelers but if they stumble we've got some decent other options this year with great paybacks.

Minnesota has a decent chance to finish over .500. Word is Teddy Bridgewater is coming back week 8, and their defense is good enough to steal a couple of games.
