Tough road game today; I expect Murray to play better but he is going to see some talent out there in red.

Go Pens.

Scott Wilson -- Carter Rowney -- Ryan Reaves

Brian Dumoulin -- Kris Letang

Matt Hunwick -- Ian Cole

Antti Niemi

Matt Murray

Scratched: Chad Ruhwedel, Josh Archibald

Injured: Patric Hornqvist (hand)

Blackhawks projected lineup

Brandon Saad -- Jonathan Toews -- Richard Panik

Ryan Hartman -- Nick Schmaltz -- Patrick Kane

The NHL did the Pens no favor this opening week. Three games in four nights all against playoff teams. They have us open at home only to go to Chicago the next evening. Thanks

^ agreed Fractal.

How about McDavid and Simmons opening the season with hat tricks? Edmonton and Toronto looked good.

Might need a timeout?

The Hawks have taken advantage of every mistake tonight.

Not that it matters, the fourth goal(sad) was goal tender interference.

Comically shitty performance. Is Niemi even an NHL goalie anymore?

So we have given up 13 goals and counting in 2 games? Jesus.

I know every team has off nights but getting beat like this is crap.

15 goals in 2 games. I don’t give a shit if you won 6 straight Stanley Cups, that’s a fucking disgrace.

When the Pens app sent me the final score alert I figured it was a typo! 10 goals sheeeeesh.

We have a rule on my beer league team that if we give up 10+ goals there's no bar afterwards. We still drink in the locker room... but NO BAR!

Did someone kidnap Murray?

I missed the game and can't bear to watch the low lights.

WTF happened?

- Letang has been absolutely awful
- Sloppy turnovers abound
- Goaltending hasn't helped

No Murray was present but Niemi wasn't ready. I stopped watching after the Hawks scored their fifth goal. The SC hangover is very present with this team.
Chicago always seems to take it to the Pens-they have embarrassed us plenty of times over the past decade.
Kane did his best imitation of the best player on the planet last night.
The Hawks were talking about this game over the Summer and obviously the Pens weren't ready for the onslaught.

Letang looks like a shelf of his former self. Give it a week or two to work it out.
