Malkin says he and Kessel need to shoot more-get more involved.
43 seconds in Malkin tosses a cross ice pass to Kessel and Phil buries it on the far side. King way back in goal and never had a chance.
1-0

King got beat on two snap shots.

Maata looks like he got that step back that was missing that last two years. He has already matched his point total from the prior year.

Malkin is in a funk, a smelly one.
The Rangers had a good scoring chance the last thirty seconds when they got the puck deep. The D man was going for the puck and possession and Malkin trailed him and knocked him from making the play. A really dumb play by Malkin.
He had a bad TO in the O zone which led to a 3 on 1 early in the period.
Sullivan could be seen on the bench ragging his ass twice, probably a few more times that we didn't see.

3-2 Rangers.

Came out tame to start the second.
Crosby guilty of a dumb double minor and the Rangers score on both of them. Thanks Sid.

Murray would like to have two of the three goals back-correctable things.

Is this game crazy or weird?

Pens get the PP chance to close out the period.

Glove hand?

I stepped out to get a shower, come back and we somehow give up 3 goals.

The first two were over the glove, the third he didn't have a chance.
The first goal his positioning was off and he was left to flounder with the shot over the glove. The second, I think he got some glove on the puck but it was on the PK and he didn't have time to move over-nice goal by the Rangers skill guys.

To have the hockey sense to not touch the hand pass there from Horny on the tying goal is nuts. That’s why he’s Sid.

Combo of listening to Mike Lange, seeing the cut-ins from NHLN for me. What a freakin' awesome finish to this game!! LOVED listening to the analysis of Kevin Weekes & Dave Reed post-game....talking about just how fuckin' smart Sid, and the Pens are. This is what makes the Penguins the Penguins!!

Yep, using his body to block Shattenkirk from making a play on the puck bit allowing him to tap it. Sweet.

And great forecheck there by Philbert on the OT winner. Ripped the Rags hearts out.

I only caught the last 10 mins of the game. You just run out of superlatives to describe Sid

Had trouble with streams, but saw Haglin's rifle shot to the corner of the net. Thought they had it in hand. Then I had more stream problems and let it go until the last 2-3 minutes of regulation. Thought for sure I was going to watch them lose.

Crosby is a freak, but hard to blame Shattenkirk. Who the fuck makes a backhand goal from behind the net while facing the boards?

Lundqvist was shocked. When asked what happened, he said after rambling about details : "Crosby" is what happened.

McDonagh fucked up big time in OT. Kessel and Malkin in your defensive zone and you play with the puck behind the net?

What a way to finish a game. And to do it in your opponent's house.

This is what makes hockey worth watching.

He was staring at Zibanejad that whole sequence and was looking to bank a pass off the boards which would have given the Rags a 2-on-1 the other way. Never saw Phil standing in front of him.

Yep, which is hard to imagine. Someone not noticing Kessel standing in front of them.

Pretty sure fatigue had something to do with that too- they were just coming off an icing. Remember the new rule where you cannot call timeout after an icing...
