Kessel might be the only professional athlete I know that can make a post-game interview look absolutely exhausting.

Sweet finish. Geno and Hot Dog are getting it done in OT.

Also, marquee matchup and NHL/NBC are getting lambasted for not showing the Pens Oilers game instead choosing the Sabres Red Wings game instead. Fucking stupid.

Oh, and the Blackhawks play the Knights, another great game, and it’s not on TV.

Early season hockey on TV is a mess.

Didn't like the lack of effort getting back when ED had the 3-1 shorthanded.

Murray has played large tonight.

Feels like a playoff game.

Question ED defensively but the skill is there for them to be dominant.

Malkin never got a full rest b4 pp shift, then so tired he couldn't skate at end. Led to 3-1. He has to get off there somehow.

Where was Crosby/Kessel? Horny was very late as well.

ED can really counter and we were lucky they didn't take advantage of that mess.

It was a great win for sure. Clutch play from lots of guys including the new one Sheahan. He made the most of his first PK with a big FO win than an attempt at a shortie with a nice pass.

One thing that disappointed was the crowd response most of the game. It seemed like they were either in awe or were more worried about the notifications on their phones.

One last observation: from the last seven minutes of the second through the first half of the third period the Pens finally played to their capacity. They were on the counter in a flash with numbers. They ate up the puck in their own end and they had nice puck possession in the OZ.
Of course the Oilers swung that mo mid period(3rd) but it was the best sustained effort by the Birdies to date this season.

I really haven't watched much of the Oilers this year, so I have to ask....How in the hell are they dead last in the NHL in scoring?

Draisatal has been hurt and I think everyone really underrated what he brings. Lots (all really) of focus on McDavid

It was like when 1 of Sid/Geno got hurt, the other usually took over. I don't think McDavid has that ability to take over a game yet. Yes he obviously can do it in spurts and off the rush bc he's faster than everyone else. But Geno and Sid can control significant portions of the game- they have different styles and right now McDavid is a 1 trick pony. he needs to expand his game

McDavid is looking to pass way too much. Kid is a natural born shooter and he's passing up close in open shots looking to pass.

If they figure it out, they are going to be a helluva tough out-- great goaltender + offensive talent/speed.

I think the other three were down deep and even Geno was leaning forward-- dead legs. I actually was thinking Edm was going to get an odd man break just before it happened and Geno was laboring, which is why I remember the situation.
