Chris Rose is the host of intentional talk on the MLB network. He burned me on Twitter tonight by digging up this old tweet I had about Charlie Morton when he signed with the Astros.

“Charlie Morton signs with The Astros. Houston guarantees $14 million over the next two seasons to the Disabled List.”

The GREATEST TRADE IN MLB HISTORY was so great for the Pirates that, when they watched the World Series from home for the 38th year in a row, they all got to say "hey, that guy used to be a mediocre pitcher for us!"

Just like 57-year-old steel said to his mom a few years ago. "THOSE ARE MY PIRATES! THEY HAD THE BEST OFFSEASON OF ALL TIME!"What a great thread!

I'd expect a 57-year-old man not to live with his mother for 57 consecutive years and to not act like a 5 year old.

Jeemie -- is this all you got?

I expect more from you.

You have something better?

Let me ask you this question.

Charlie Morton just WON GAME 7 of the World Series, after having a tremendous year for the Astros.

Please answer me this:

WHERE THE FUCK IS NATHAN MCLOUTH playing right now???

Steel, we've been through this.

Your rhetoric was ridiculous then, and it's ridiculous now regardless of Charlie Morton pulling a career year out of his ass one year after being on the shelf for a whole season.

It was a nice trade.

It was not the "greatest trade in Pirates history", let alone "the greatest trade in Major League history".

Anyone that thinks that it was is just dumb.

I’ll be honest...I didn’t follow the MLB post season like I normally do, but didn’t Charlie Bucket have some shitty post season numbers?

I can only say this: when Morton was with the Pirates, he was a nibbler and afraid to throw strikes-- with good reason, because he lacked movement and guys lit him up.

Last night, he was dealing filthy stuff. Started off about 5 batters in a row with high cheese with so much movement, not one of them even came close to swinging at it, let alone hitting it. Then coming back with with sliders painting the inside corner, then finishing them with unhittable outside pitches.

He was fantastic last night.

CMo was excellent in the world series - as a starter and in relief

He also won the deciding game against the Yanks, 5 innings, 2 hits, 0 runs. He was rocked badly in Yankee Stadium, however.

Still, winning two Game 7's, against the Yankees and Dodgers no less, is a pretty damn good postseason.

My apologies to Ground Chuck. I didn't think he had it in him. Apparently, he turned it around in Houston. Remember the comparisons to Roy Halliday?
