It takes an All-Pro like Eric Berry to cover Gronk. Allen may not even be in the NFL in 3 years. Please God no...

Man...zone....flag football...if we meet in the post-season, they'll adjust to whatever scheme that was successfully used against them in the regular season. Oddly, Butler and Tomlin won't anticipate this....

To be fair, few coaching staffs have looked smart against Belicheat during the Marsha era. Has anyone beaten NE twice in one season? Maybe Peyton?

Cotrez Allen shut Gronk down as a rookie. I do not think they have to be all-pro.

Cortez's mythology with Gronk reminds me of Kemoautu's mythology with Hampton. Kemo shut down Hampton in ONE drill in camp. Everyone figures he's got to be talented to do that. Kemo lived off that one day for years....

Cortez...an epic flameout...may have had a lucky game...a game where he played lights out....LIKE an ALL-PRO....a game he never duplicated again. Hey, sometimes a benchwarmer comes in and scores 30 points...it happens but you don't use luck as a strategy.

Or were other factors involved? Did Cortez have help in scheme? Did anyone analyze the All-22? Was tubmonster Gronk 100%?

Which of these scenarios seems most likely? What is the most likely outcome if rookie Allen is lined up against Gronk? Can you imagine the shit Tomlin (but curiously NOT Butler) would take on THIS board if Allen lines up against Gronk and gets inevitably torched?

Come on man....

Take away Eli and Peyton...that's 3 teams in 16 years. Jesus Christ...

That being said...I have no idea how often we've been swept since 2001 so maybe this level of success is not unique.

Considering how often Peyton got his ass handed to him by Brady, Eli is Brady's kryptonite. Eli has done as much to help the Steelers stay ahead of the Patriots in terms of SB victories as Ben.
