No Hornqvist who is back in Pittsburgh undergoing evaluation. Simon is a game time decision so Archibald gets a nod tonight.

The Pens face an old foe in Count Varlamov in goal tonight.

Penguins projected lineup
Jake Guentzel -- Sidney Crosby -- Josh Archibald

Carl Hagelin -- Evgeni Malkin -- Bryan Rust

Conor Sheary -- Riley Sheahan -- Phil Kessel

Tom Kuhnhackl -- Carter Rowney -- Ryan Reaves

Brian Dumoulin -- Kris Letang

Olli Maatta -- Chad Ruhwedel

Ian Cole -- Matt Hunwick

Matt Murray

Tristan Jarry

Scratched: Kevin Czuczman

Injured: Patric Hornqvist (upper body), Justin Schultz (lower body), Dominik Simon (illness)

Another shitty change...you could see it develop. That is coaching and had been a problem for weeks.
0-1

Ruhwedel

From disorder to order back to disorder and the Count is beat.
1-1

Was that a 3 on 0 break?! You rarely see that in pro hockey.

Pens are terrible, terrible at the 5 on 5

Pens have a few home games coming up against good teams. If we don’t rack up some points on the home stand, color me officially worried about this team.

And yes, I realize not even January.

Crosby with zero shots. Me thinks he really doesn’t like the current roster.

Pens trying to imitate post-championship Steelers, who failed to make the playoffs season following past three Super Bowl wins. I'm seriously...ascared...that Pens won't qualify.

He took a little blow to the head about 5 games ago...you'd hate to think he's injured?

And I too am starting to be a bit concerned about this team. They now own a similar record just before HCMJ was fired

An even strength 3 on 0 break because of a sloppy lane change is a massive indictment on the current state of this team. I get that shit happens but that shows poor effort, lack of concentration and poor coaching.

Funny we lost 4-2 and they didn’t score on that play.

I believe there is a trading freeze around the holidays.

I bet 50 dollars there's a trade immediately after the freeze
