Everybody is ignoring the elephant in the room. If steeler boards are any reflection of how steeler nation feels about Haley's play calling, then this might have been a result of someone telling him he sucks at OC, should eat a bag of dicks, and haley responded after a few cocktails. Or his wife did, and he intervened.

People who swing are private about it, I would think. Especially if he's recognizable. He's a well known face in PGH.

I think that's exactly right. And WTF....shouldn't be any 50-year-olds in bars????

Obviously, both Todd and Mrs. Todd have hair-trigger tempers...can go off easily. I'm anxious to hear the rest of the story....seems as though there should be an arrest coming. Will we know the assailant??

Take into account that the writing on the wall is that Haley is going to lose his job. National television is showing him not involved in on field convo's about game time strategy and tactics with the HC and QB. I'm guessing they are already raw nerve endings waiting to explode or lash out.

And yeah. WTF is wrong with a 50 year old going to a bar with his wife?

Dude on the Steelers subreddit said he was playing blackjack at Rivers and Todd was at the same table and he was a gigantic asshole and even took a drink the waitress was bringing over to the Redditor that Redditor had already paid for.

Seems he's just an asshole in general.

Apologies if already posted...

Quote:
@MikeGarafolo
Pittsburgh PD spokeswoman says Todd Haley’s wife Christine was involved in a “minor scuffle” shortly after midnight Jan. 1. “The scuffle was quickly ended. Todd Haley was not involved nor injured.” Both Haleys were escorted out of the bar. No injuries or charges. https://twitter.com/MikeGarafolo/status ... 8469402625

You know what's really fucked up is you see all these coaching prospects in the news as candidates for Head Coaching, Offensive Coordinator positions in the news and re:Todd is in the news for getting thrown down like a bitch outside a dive bar resulting in a hip injury.
Get rid of this shit for brains trouble maker already...

So the Steelers offensive coordinator leaves Heinz Field, walks over to Rivers, then to Tequila Cowboy. You can tell by his on-field stuff, his yelling at Ben, etc. that the guy's a dick.

I'm thinking he may be first OC in history to be fired AFTER his team wins the Super Bowl.

I was thinking something similar that someone here did it (I don't follow other boards) but no one came forward.

Does Rivers charge gamblers for drinks? Every casino that I’ve gambled at provides free booze. Called a loss leader.

When you have a title, any title you take that title with you at all times. People who understand that don't compromise their title and demonstrate respect for the title and the entity that's behind it. The abuse of title that we see is in direct proportion with the degree of meritocracy associated with that title. We see much abuse of title in politics because that theater has degenerated into a cesspool with little meritocracy. The OC for the Steelers carries the entire reputation of the entity with him at all times, doesn't mean they have no life, it means you are highly selective, very discreet and private. You can do whatever you want provided you never compromise yourself or your title.

Haley is beyond unworthy of the title, he's a liability to the brand's reputation and integrity and he clearly doesn't understand the responsibilities of the title when he's off the field and that invective filled diatribe, HOF QBs opinion as well as the knowledgeable fans' eyesight is evidence he doesn't understand the title on the field.

Haley should be suspended and relieved of all duties immediately pending an investigation and terminated after we win the SB. His actions indicate to me he did not gain this position exclusively by merit.

Haven't been to Rivers, but I've had to pay for drinks in pretty much every casino I've been in outside of Vegas. Granted, I'm usually playing on the cheapest black jack tables possible, so that may factor in.
