Another reason the team should've been in the superbowl. Imagine having him walk out for the coin toss?

F'n team.

That would have been an amazing scene...

Clarification on Shazier's walking status, it's assisted at this point, I suspected it was the intital rehab efforts, awesome news to have him continue his journey

Ryan Shazier confirms he is not walking on his own
Posted by Michael David Smith on February 6, 2018, 9:04 AM EST

Two conflicting reports were published on Sunday about the status of Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier, who suffered a serious spinal injury in December, and Shazier has weighed in to explain that he has a long road of recovery ahead of him.

The first report, from Adam Schefter of ESPN, said that Shazier “is engaging in a regular walking routine.” As PFT noted in passing along that report, it appeared as though Shazier needed assistance in any walking he was doing, as a picture on social media showed him needing a leg brace and the help of Ben Roethlisberger to stand.

The second report, from Michele Tafoya of NBC, said that “Shazier needs support from a walker or other people to support him in his rehabilitation walking, which remains a struggle.” Tafoya said Shazier can’t walk on his own.

On Twitter, Shazier linked to Tafoya’s report and referred to it as 100 percent correct.

We continue to wish Shazier well as he continues the hard work it will take to walk again.

He may walk into camp but it won’t be to play football.

I don’t see him suiting up in 2018. At least not by training camp. Maybe later in the year. If ever.

Just speculating obviously but that’s my read.

Big jump from walking again to running again to playing linebacker in the NFL again.

I think any of us have as good a chance of playing for the Steelers next season than Shazier does

We need everyone to post their 40 times, bench and vertical.

We will then submit to Colbert.

STD IM’d me his numbers for whoever will accumulate and submit the data:

11.87
Zero at 225
7/8th’s of one inch

It really does. Not that this should matter, but such a contrast with how incredibly, purely FAST he was.

And yeah...I was anxious opening the vid to see if he stood on his own, or needed help. Was honestly, somewhat disappointed that I wasn't seeing what I wanted to see.

Such a sudden change for everything in his life. He's a hard worker, rehab and medical science are better than ever in regards to spinal nerve injuries... it looks like he's on track to live normal life, which is amazing, considering.

Latest update on Ryan Shazier's progress. He actually talks about his situation. Sounds promising and god bless him for the attitude he brings to his recovery process. If anyone can do it, he can.
