I watched that show last night. REALLY impressed with Foles and Pederson. Never fucking blinked or had the usual "We're playing the genius Belichick" brainfart that most other coaches have late in games against them.

Because I must nitpick, Pederson had one minor brain fart.

With 2:03 left and 2nd and 5, he should have tried to pass for the first down.

Make it and he assures New England never gets the ball back.

Incomplete and they’re in the same situation they were by running the ball...clock was stopped.

Only risk is an INT, which you can minimize with the playcall not to force anything...with which the way Foles was playing, I would have no fear of him doing.

But it was a minor brain fart...the odds were still in their favor either way.

But better a chance at 100% assurance of victory than a 95+% chance.

The idea that someone like Foles who had that 2013 season could be somehow be relegated to consensus second-rate status on the basis of the opinion of Jeff Fisher and Andy Reid shows how stupid some coaches and their copycat brethren can be. 2013 was somehow dismissed as a freak outlier, but a breakdown of his performance shows that he used extraordinarily good judgment that year with a great C/I ratio and had the skills and leadership character to be a long-term starter.

My reaction to Wentz' injury against the Rams was that there was not much of a drop off if any at that position, though the ESPN heads said at the time that the Eagles were done.

In psychology and sociology, they call this the Rosenthal or Golem effect, where someone gets a bad reputation on the opinion of a supervisor rather than objective measures of ability.

Well the problem wasn't Foles, it was dinosaurs Fisher and Reid. BTW, Pederson would have won the first SB against the Pats if he had coached instead of Yertle the Turtle Reid.

There are maybe fifteen QBs in the league who could do what Foles did in the playoffs (admittedly Flacco is one of them, but maybe not anymore) and I fail to see how Cousins is more valuable than Foles going forward.
