Like B2B and 77 I too would like to take a moment to voice my displeasure with the combine coverage.

Thanks to weekend soccer commitments (effing soccer blows). I’m way behind on my combine watching but I’m already irritated by the lack of airtime for Daniel Jeremiah. I don’t always agree with his opinions but he’s solid and well connected.

I used to like mayock the first few years of the NFL network but now I just tolerate him and his surly demeanor. I’d ditch Eisen completely and let Jeremiah host it thus tripling his airtime.

Steve Smiths tough guy persona annoys me but at least he offers an opinion. The rest of the retired players just there to add credibility for the casual fan I guess.

I agree with posting all vital testing information. Again I’m trying to catch up and can’t easily find it on my phone. I know Walterfootball used to post numbers now I can barely get crappy site to open on my admittedly antiquated cell phone

Final complaint how hard would it to show some game tape of these kids? Youre the NFL. Surely they can have access to some college tape.

I do enjoy watching the drills and any football talk this time of year is appreciated but they could do soooo much better.

Sounds like the draft coverage frustrations too

I'd have to agree with Drama and others, More Daniel Jeremiah and Charles Davis, less angry Mayock and Eisen.

I was really surprised at Sam Hubbard's 3-cone drill 6.84 at 270.

Already did the bench. Fitzpatrick with 15, James with 21....Mike Hughes with 20.

Yup, compared to a top 10 draftee Davenport that tested at 7.20 at 264.... or a Chubb that tested at 7.37 at 269...

Haha awesome. I'm thinking my students might notice the distraction. Plus, I'd probably end up discussing how Fleance's three-cone agility and KEI composite allowed him to elude Macbeth's assassins in Act III, scene 3, despite his small frame and wrist circumference.

That made me laugh....

Donte Jackson 4.32
Denzel Ward 4.32
Parry Nickerson 4.32
Tony Brown 4.37
Jaire Alexander 4.38

Other big names:

Josh Jackson 4.49
Mike Hughes 4.53
Isaiah Oliver 4.51

All unofficial at this point.

Damn, Denzel. Jackson tested out about where I thought he would, but I figured Ward for 4.40 or so. With the buildup yesterday on Hughes' speed, that 4.5 seems pretty disappointing. That could be the fault of the buildup more than the player, though.

Apke ran a 4.35 Deion insinuates that he's surprised a white boy ran that fast......nobody blinks an eye. Ham-n-Egger he will be labeled.

Apke is not a ham-n-egger, he’s a track guy who refuses to hit anyone and never once showed on tape using that speed downhill to make a tackle or click and close. He’s really fuckin straight line fast in shorts, though. Wow.

Having watched it live and replay, I think Donte Jackson stumbled at the start and pulled up with a cramp on his last step, meaning... not way to know for sure, but I’m thinking he could run sub 4.3 if he put it together.

I didn't get to watch the 40 drills, did Marcus Allen come up lame in his first attempt or something, or just refuse to run?

I so wanted to finally get a slow 40 time on him so people could shut up about him being a second round pick and that we would draft him. I say he is a 4.65 guy at best and want no part of him in any round. That and no hands or ballskills, 1 INT in 52 games? No thank you.

I was looking at Josh, but duly noted. As mentioned, I was at work.

Allen didn't run the 40, 3 cone or the 60 Yd Shuttle Scunge. He did participate in some of the other drills. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/marcus-al ... 6a128fa16f

Bench Press 15.0, Vertical Jump 37.0, Broad Jump 127.0, 20 Yd Shuttle 4.32

FWIW, Zierlein has him going in the 4th RND. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2018/profiles/ ... id=2559941

Compare Brian Allen to anybody in this draft. Safety/Corner.... Tell me where you think he'd be drafted.

He also jumped out of the building. He's raw. New to the position. Only one year of tape. He fills fast against the run but misses too many tackles. Probably due to his background as a WR. Probably a solid Teamer in the NFL.

I couldn't trust him on teams yet-- he doesn't hit anyone. Ever. He is willing to tackle but he's all arm and olé. He actually goes out of his way to avoid making body contact. I don't think he's mentally soft, I just think he's a great athlete who's not a football player right now. Undrafted practice squad guy, maybe, but he'd have a hard time making it through an NFL training camp.

Not sure about this year, but size and athletically, he's almost Harrison Smith's twin. If he has half his FB IQ I don't know why he's not in the main conversation to play FS. The Vike's Zimmer would probably have Allen playing like a top FS in the league inside of two years. We do what we do, though.

Tim Settle had a bad combine. Messed up a drill as well.

He looked like a very young 19.
DaShawn Hand looked like a very mature 19.
Nathan Shepherd looked like that middle school basketball kid with a full beard and receding hairline.
