It's Shazier's rookie year, get off his nuts.

He wasn't often injured at OSU. Hopefully that holds true moving forward. The last injury was bad luck as a 300+ pounder rolled up on his leg.

Beckham will be the better player.

Watch and learn.

How could we pass on Beckham when he was selected by the Giants ahead of us?

That's why I had a question mark after "We passed on Odell Beckham for Shazier, right?"

Why let facts get in the way of a quality complaint?

You struggle with simple things like, the whole "asking a question" thing.

WTF? How many receivers were we supposed to take? I'm good with Bryant so far.

Fair enough I am nor ragging about missing on receivers BUT who do you think will be the better pro's, Mosely, Borland or Shazier?? I am the first guy to say NEVER make up your mind about a guy during his rookie year cause I have seen dozens of guys who look lost in year 1 figure shit out. BUT right now I think both those guys stated above will be better pro's than Shazier based on what I am seeing so far and that shit is on Colbert. Cause he is a Pittsburgh guy, he has a gig for life, fuckin tenure in a pro football organization!!

Can't compare a WR and LB.

Besides, how many WR's do we need? That is one of the strongest positions for the team right now.

I seriously doubt Wheaton is ever going to be a high level player. He'll be okay, but I'm not expecting him to be great.

I think Beckham is going to be a star.

Since he was taken one pick before us, it doesn't matter (I thought he was taken a pick or two after us.)

We'll see how Shazier's career progresses.

Fair enough.

Beckham may end up being a star, but the jury is still out on him too. One big season doesn't mean a whole lot if the following year goes down hill.

We shall see. For the Steelers sake,I hope Shazier pans out and think he will.

My biggest problem with Colbert and Tomlin is player evaluation.

Since Tomlin has arrived they have fell in love with "burst", especially on defense. Shazier, S Thomas, Timmons, Wheaton, and Sanders all showed among the fastest acceleration at there position in there class. It's also Mitchells greatest strength. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. But if you look back at Shazier almost knocking himself out filling on M Gordon, while Gordon nearly broke the tackle, bells should have went off. Then there was Lanford vs MSU just trucking him. Add in the Reverend Sammy Watkins, and hard questions should have been asked.

I would have taken Mosely, Martin, or Cooks. I haven't given up on Shazier, but it looks like we have three players most suited to fill Troy's role, and we still don't have a true FS on the roster. Right now, I hope like hell I'm wrong, but they could fall in love with Shaq Thompson and I'm guessing he is sitting there around 20.

Beckham was taken #12 , 13 was Aaron Donald to rams and 14 was Kyle Fuller (who I really prayed that we drafted) to bears

Shit...
Beckham the hall of fame talent, Eli's number one target 31 of 50 targets for 463 yards 3TDs
Markus Wheaton the dud, Bens number 3 target after AB and LeVeon, 35 of 58, 436 yards 2 TDs

The Steelers wanted Donald or Shazier. They were in no trade up mode, they needed every pick. They got their number two choice. The Ravens would have taken Shazier had we passed on him. Let the kid heal. Injuries happen. People who have no patience find themselves trading Johnny Unitas and losing for 42 years straight.

I'm not FC either.

If you read other Steeler boards there are a large number of Shazier doubters. The specific criticisms I've leveled, I've read of elsewhere, although I was aware of them previously. I just love football and watch alot of it.

I've not done much writing since ES 102 and I'm often looking over my shoulder when posting. But then this a message board in the age of the text message, not an English composition board, so my thinking is the standard rules of English aren't a legitimate bitch unless it's incomprehensible.

And it's really not much to play detective with.

What do you think about small framed players?

Risky?

I don't think FC is the kind of guy to start a new screen name and post under that. I only know him from this message board but he didn't seem like a pussy that was afraid to come back and post again under his original screen name. I don't get anyone would do that unless they were banned and I can't see coming back to any board that banned me. Of course I don't know the whole story about why he left either but that's my opinion.

Depends on the tape. To a lesser degree the position.

Thoughts on kick return or the fishing in Arkansas? Kind of funny that the representitive of the ultimate Steeler grind them out rb is in favor of the hit on 18 offense.

Foster road off into the sunset to bass fish but you know it was a wise ass querie to a wise ass querie.

I just don't get this fascination with my identity. I've said in no uncertain terms I'm neither. I haven't broke any rules- not even derailing a topic as is the case here.

Lighten up. I'm an avid fisherman.

Go Steelers!

Relax.

I didn't realize Beckham was taken before Shazier.

But Beckham is going to be a star.

I'l be shocked if Shazier becomes a star.

That's about the the size of it.
